What's with the doom and gloom guys? WE control what the laws are or are not, not some GD bureaucrat or some idiot techie who wants to make money and control things. I don't see self-driving cars EVER happening for the obvious and amazingly stupid safety issues. I also think electric cars will be DONE. We will have a variety of choices from now on. The bureaucrats and faceless "organizations/unions" are going to collapse.
Don't know if it's true, but I heard someone mention that if it wasn't for Federal subsidies, that Tesla as a company would not be able to continue, even after all these years.
Are you actually pushing for more rules and regulations? Don't have enough government in your life? Wow... I'm going to the 152M private viewing in Maranello next week. Curious to see what's changed. Personally, I prefer the single taillights on the F12 and FF over the restyled GTC4 Lusso, but I'm sure the new car will be amazing.
US is more restrictive than 70% of EU. I lived in both places. On the new F12, this has to be the elegant model in the range or else it just doesn't work.

Except LaFerrari all new cars are anticipated from an online presentation about a month before the launch at the show .. if geneva opens in early March then we will be close to the online revealed

If/When Ferrari goes V12 hybrid, that will open the door for more possible Ferrarista defections who want pure NA V12's. Lambo will be the only game in town. Product differentiation in this way may work to their advantage. I'm not crazy about the lambo wedge look...but don't see myself wanting to buy a hybrid Ferrari. Yes I know about the LaF hybrid argument which is a special car not relevant to the standard line Ferrari offerings discussion.
When the successor of the F12 M will go V12 hybrid probably around 2019/2020, I believe many of the Ferraristas will defect refusing that semi-electric engine versions. When this day will arrive the F12 range is going to have a high jump in value because it marks the end of an era, that began with the foundation of Ferrari company, and will represent the last super cars equipped with the most powerful V12 aspirated road engines ever produced by Ferrari.
I think we shouldn't make assumptions on exactly how they will do their hybridization. They were clever with their integration of turbo and cleaver with their AWD system. So, I don't think so many will defect. I think as long as they keep some kind of combustion motor in the chain so you get the sound and fury we all associate with Ferrari, they will be fine. If that's the case, I think it will be less of a shock than the move away from stick shift. And has that hurt them? I don't think so.
Respectfully disagree. Technology has come a long way over the last 70 years and yet Ferrari is more desirable today than ever. Adding hybridization to an NA motor is more desirable than turbo. There will be no mass exodus. Didn't happen with fuel injection, the death of the clutch pedal, power steering, etc. Ferrari will find a way to make it special, as they always have done. Despite of what Ferrari will do in terms of future motorizations I'm certain that they always find new clients willing to buy the cars. People can argue that's a conservative and non sense attitude not to accept turbo or hybrid engines as a natural evolution of times but, for some of us, that since kids have associated the mystic of Ferrari cars to the great aspirated V8 and V12 engines. That change in paradigma represents the end of an era which terminated exclusively due to the implemented very restrictive emission rules but for some of us that shouldn't be what dictates the art of creating a Ferrari.
