The Lusso is a special car. I feel for it on first sight.
At the 1970 Bourne Co. auction in Brookline Mass.
SR#5485. I wonder where it is now.

I think we need to also talk about a flaw that not all Lusso’s but most seem to have. It’s not a design flaw, it’s an execution flaw. I don’t know if Scaglietti had more than one jig, or a beater that was less competent, but it’s there. The car has a tight arc from the headlight to the taillight, I think the only other car with a tighter arc is Alfa’s Sprit Speciale. But the three arcs don’t quite match together, so when it comes to where the wings meet the door edges (especially the front edge), there is a tucked-in effect, sort of like a fat man wearing a tight belt. This is more accentuated in some cars and less in others. The 275GTB’s side arc is more relaxed than the Lusso’s so that effect is less noticeable and it’s a later car too, maybe the incompetent beater got fired. Anyway, I thought I’d throw this out there and see.

Marcel....Somewhat from memory as am travelling but think this is pretty accurate.......

    From the top......

    5729 5685 5463 ?

    5675 5379 5859

    4411 4413 5953

    5463 5689 5685(AGAIN)

    5303 5449 5467

    5377 5417 5209

Two pics of 5685 and I think the far right pic on top row is another picture of 5463. Can confirm all when back in office on 14th...paul

It’s all about angles and reflections… see the way light bounces off the car in Post 5 and the red car in the bottom of Post 6 for example.

When I saw that car the first time the color combination caught me right away and I had to have it. But it wasn't the original one. Much later I found out that it was originally delivered in Verde Scuro 19394 It. with Pelle Beige VM 3309. Probably also a stunning combination.

    Best Matthias

Paul, I can confirm 5463GT top right when it was registered 4ARE and you sold it to me. Mercifully the Rob Walker registration of 542EMW was retained and lives on albeit on a car that has been resprayed back to the Walker blue when he had it.
