The Interim is #1523GT at the Tour Auto 1959. Driving to victory by Olivier Gendebien and Lucien Bianchi.
The disappearance of the side window is the main result of the reduction of the wheelbase: 2600 mm for the Interim version and 2400mm for the SWB (Short WheelBase)

Ferrari #159 was the Ecurie Francorchamps entry driven by Willy Mairesse (BEL) / Georges Berger (BEL), who finished the 1959 Tour de France 2nd overall.

Is the interim #163?, an Interim Berlinetta LWB, the Ecurie Francorchamps entry driven by Olivier Gendebein (BEL) / Lucien Bianchi (BEL), who finished the 1959 TdF 1st overall.

Thank you, I had not realized the wheelbase change happened there. I should read more books. I had seen an Interim just a couple of times and they look so similar (to SWB) otherwise. Also great to see how Olivier Gendebein year after year successfully raced yet another Ferrari, the SWB that was later modified to the special GTO had the same livery in 1961.

Sorry for side-tracking, it was just that nice 1959 photo that got me curious. Back to TdF only. :)

    Cheers,

    Pekka T.

Ps. Only two weeks to Goodwood Revival!

My hat's off to you, Sir, for using the car as often as possible and hope that someday you'll even get an opportunity to experience it for real Grand Touring.

I am currently running the car on ethanol-free leaded 96 octane fuel.
Runs beautifully and no ethanol to chew the lines.

Hmm..., this could definitely make any actual "Grand Touring" (long distance traveling) planning slightly more cumbersome or problematic.
Are there specific reasons for this, like any or all fuel hoses, seals and etc currently on the car not compatible with ethanol "enhanced" fuels ?
    Just curious.

New body, new engine,,,but certified,,,,everyone who was looking for a TDF 15 years ago looked at this one,,and ran away,,,from the bitza,,,but now a brand new original car ( and good looking too I have to admit) but not too many original parts..

Good looking for sure! But money talks in the traditon of 6045 and 5899 and all this supported from the wonderful Italian miracles of Classiche. However, be prepared for more coming soon and the more and more tolerated trend of certified works replicas.

Just the black rubber sneaking out a bit. When brand new they are very rigid and not elastic enough.
I am more worried about the nose, especially the front grille and in particular the upper lip which Bachelli & Villa (Carrozzeria Autosport in Bastiglia) in my opinion didn't do right. But hey, it's a rebody anyway.
