What we recognize as the TdF was not the name by Ferrari. According to Jess Pourret any car that won the Tour de France was allowed to use the moniker.

For what we consider the Long wheelbase TdF the 250 Interim should also be included. It was the last development of the LWB series.

    Great cars all.

Yes agreed, interims are TdFs, some great racing history and some with disc brakes like 1519gt that just sold and was extremely well bought in my opinion. I drove that car and wow what fun.

    What a pair!

Would be nice to walk down to the garage at night with a glass of wine and look at those two sitting together!

Sometimes, I wonder if restorers are not completely blind.

They made a nice restoration on 0897GT but...

... interior of headlights were silver (red now) and side vents were painted in red originally (silver now...)

How long it takes to watch one vintage picture to see that ??

I doubt that the car was ever restored to this exact livery as the numbers where not on the car when it was last seen. My guess would be that RM put the numbers on to get a connection to the vintage images they have, no more no less...

    Hi Cyril,

I am sure RM did only some touch ups after they picked up the car on July 23 from my garage. They only removed some of the racing equipment and put back the standard seats and carpets.

What really puzzels me is where they found the info about the first owners and the race history and the photos. This was totally new for me and really took me by surprise.

    Best regards
    Matthias
