I just noticed the online configurators at ferrari.com have all adopted the mini-site style and thus it's not possible to play with certain options anymore, like the roof colours: now only black is available :( I remember playing with different combos like silver, greys, reds, etc.

Should anyone find a working link to the old style, please let me know...

Hi all...I thought I would post a couple of pics of my 458 Spider. I'm most pleased with the exterior color, Rosso Maranello. In the direct sunlight, it's almost a candy apple red. I also specced my car at the Ferrari Atelier store in Manhattan. I was able to add the carbon fiber racing seats from the SA Aperta, which have seat piping and a different seat stitching pattern over .the normal 458 carbon fiber racing seats. The interior color is Grigio Scuro (charcoal).

Just a beautiful exterior color and interior. I was going to do my Speciale in that red color but couldn't pull the trigger on the $28 k extra, so went with Rosso Fiorano.

Rosso Maranello is such an incredible color, especially in person. FYI, it's "only" a $19k option as opposed to $28k for the the tricolor paint options.

Oooookay...and what red specifically is that?

I really like it. It's a bit darker deeper MEANER red. It must have name though. (unless its just parked in the shade).

I can give it a name, but it's just Rosso Corsa that I tweaked using Adobe Lightroom. Basically, I upped the black level a bit and added more saturation. We can call it Rosso Aggressivo. I like it better than the standard red as well, and think this is what every red Ferrari should look like. I guess through the magic of Adobe, they can be!

Are you sure? I have just ordered a Speciale in Rosso Maranello and the factory have confirmed it is a three layer paint and the cost is £18k (UK pounds).

    Colour looks fantastic!

Rosso Maranello is a three layer paint, and was the maximum cost optin when I ordered my car (nero stellato with rosso maranello roof) in 2011.

After many years with my red/tan 360 Spyder, I test drove a 458. I liked it so much I bought the first one I drove. Wanted to post a picture. Simply love the car.
