Official Ferrari 488 GT Modificata thread

Did you look at the Ferrari Quebec dealership for sale 488 race car in yellow? Only 91 kilometers for this 2022 Challenge Evo .

 

I’m beginning to research the improvements (wb length, evo changes, etc) to narrow focus into which years. If I have inspections done on cars that don’t meet the grade I’ll share the vins with you. I’ve got a relationship with Michelotto as I own an original group iv so they’ve been helpful in planning, eliminating known problem cars, and will be doing the check overs for me.

 

I sold my GT3 a few weeks ago with some difficulty and certainly not at the price I wanted.
it must be said that now the cars almost all have km and need work if one is not satisfied, especially the engine and gearbox which have an "imposed" expiry date and cost a lot.
If the 296 is not officially raced in some championship, we still have to wait a long time.
Perhaps for this reason some amateurs, who will not use them for racing but just for fun, will still evaluate the 488 but I believe that in the long run the prices are destined to rise as happened for the 458.

 

Joe, haven’t seen you out there yet, at least none of the HPDE events. I’m slowly catching up with the meager 458 Challenge, last weekend was the 25th track day this year.

Running a couple more events this year, Road Atlanta with MVP and Sebring with Chin.

That must be one heck of a car you’re looking for!

 

Eeeks, I just HPDE mine. I’m at 11,000kms, hopefully won’t be dealing with a rebuild for a while. I thought the 488 Challenge market would start to open up.

 

Unfortunately it’s been a busy year with the kids’ commitments, moving my farther cross country into senior care, renovating our lake house, etc. I’ve only done one driver event all summer and don’t know what I might have for options this fall but next years a new season. It was good to see you at Watkins Glen this summer though and I enjoy your traveling to various tracks posts. Hopefully next summer will be less hectic and I can get some good track days in alongside of you.

Two more events planned for 2023, RA with MVP and the 3 day event with Chin at Sebring in December. That'll make 30 days (admittedly more than planned).

Once I'm done for the year I'll start a new thread which covers my experience in the Challenge car in 2023.
