I think these cars are trading in the $1.5s, the car I know of that traded in the 1.5s was asking close to 1.9 too. So unless the $1.9m sale is confirmed I think it’s safe to assume this probably sold at the current market price of 1.5ish.

Agreed... Classic needs to amend the way they present "sale" prices. Unless it's at an auction, the price should be indicated as "last asking", rather than "Sold", as no one really knows and - again to your point - the bid/ask spread can be pretty wide, especially when dealing with a car like the 812C where the market hasn't fully been established.

FWIW, I find it impossibly hard to believe that the CLB 812C actually sold at $1.9... Even if the buyer just had to have opaco paint, etc, I know there are other cars quietly available (even with opaco) that could could had for significantly less.

There are multiple 812Cs available close to $1.5m, I highly doubt anyone paid above $1.6m for that car let alone $1.9m.

My dealer recently sold a pretty basic spec coupe for 1.6...

Does anyone know what the current market is on the 812 Comp Apertas are? I remember then being in the low 3's when they first landed... But I assume they are lower now that the dust has settled. Hard to figure out the true market on the Aperta's as none have sold publicly.

Yes. And I know of another with a … let’s say … interesting spec that sold for $1.75m.

I heard of a private sale over $3m from someone I know but didn’t see the transaction directly (so take it for what it’s worth).

That is the only one I “heard” of so it seems the Apertas are much more rare on the market which makes sense. Plus, I don’t know why anyone would want to sell one of those! They’re ridiculously amazing cars.

Coupés are currently being traded for 1.6 million euros and Apertas for 2.3 million euros. Both are rare cars with a design and sound that is second to none. The presence that the car radiates and the unique feeling of the interior with the closed rear window is gigantic. What's more, the carbon rear lid allows much more sound into the cabin. The Competizione will become one of the most modern timeless Ferraris.

meh, I don’t like the darkness of the cabin or the lcd mirror, think a regular coupe is much better value, but maybe thats just me

and the “vortex generators” are extremely gimmicky in my opinion.

Of course, we're talking about really small things now, but all good. I think that the digital rear mirror works extremely well and is really needed, unlike other models such as the Purosangue, SF90 Stradale, Spider, SF90 XX Spider where you have a rear window and a standard rear mirror would suffice. For the Competizione you have no other choice. The dark interior gives you an even sportier feeling, because almost all racing cars don't have a rear window. I think the vortex generators are a smart solution that also looks very good. But that's a matter of taste, but what's impressive is how extreme the difference is compared to the 812 Superfast in terms of performance, driving feel and set-up. It's worlds better, although the 812 Superfast is also a great car.

Unfortunately, a 812 Superfast is nothing special. There are thousands of cars and it lacks that certain something and is not comparable with the presence of a Competizione.

Perhaps but its sound is far superior to the 812c. Neutering the sound unnecessarily in all markets was unfortunate. There's a great engine just dying to get out but alas through giant coffee cans.

LOL, what? Have you heard the 812c? It is incredibly loud and far more intense than the 812. I think you’re reading about regulations and making assumptions just to post. The 812c is on another level

Have only heard it in videos. Its terrible when compared to 812sf in videos. Trust me I know what a Ferrari NA V12 should sound like! GPF destroys what could be.

Hahaha, “videos”? I owned an 812, 812 GTS and now have a Comp A. Trust me! My ears are buzzing when I get out of the Comp A. It’s on another level and surprisingly loud and aggressive (and wonderful)

Why does it suck for sound in all the videos just like the 812 GTS?

You are wrong in that topic, I have measured it myself with a DP device and the Competizione is louder than an 812 Superfast both at idle and under full throttle. These are facts, measured values. The Dodici cilindri are significantly quieter than an 812 Superfast and Competizione.

It seems like some people here want to badmouth the Competizione for some inexplicable reason. But one thing is clear, an 812 Competizione is an exception in all categories. It is a modern car but has the emotional characteristics of a young timer. It is also a fact that the Competizione is louder than a Lamborghini Revuelto. I don't know how Ferrari managed it, but with the Competizione they managed to release a car that has everything. The gearbox and the gear changes are out of this world.
The good sales figures on the open market at the moment also confirm my statement.

I don’t get it either and that’s why I called out SolidSate for his post. It was just a negative post written with certainty that wasn’t justified. He said so matter of fact that the Comp was lesser yet had no experience other than “trust me bro I watched a YouTube video”. That seems to happen a lot here and I like the enthusiasm but wish people would qualify their statements.

Your post is bang on. The Comp is in another league. It’s very angry, very fast and very loud.

I never said anything about loudness. I said sound. The 812c sounds terrible to me. Ferrari tried the best they could to correct it but failed miserably. The self-inflicted North American GPF equipped V12 is muffled by a volume of tiny passages equal to the entire engine capacity. When you do that it completely changes the sound. The highs are gone and there is a shift to a muffled mid with abrupt change when the valve open which only makes the poor sound louder. The 812gts is just plain silent since it wasn't the LE version that's supposed to be more of a sports car. The 12c is not even worth mentioning. Compare these to an F12 or a 599GTO and get back to me.

Happy to compare to the F12 (I’ve owned one of those too!). I’d say the Comp A has a very high pitched howl at high RPM and sounds better. Certainly more racy and…um…a bit antisocial with the volume. I’m not sure video comparisons are really going to capture the sounds correctly to accurately compare.

it’s a great car but let’s not deflect from the original purpose that judging cars with absolute statements based on videos and not experience (without qualification) isn’t awesome. (i.e. your original post that started this)
