Merci Olivier! I'm really in love with this combination and every time i go in the garage my smile couldn't be bigger. here's the thread: http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/goodbye-italia-hello-speciale.552176/
Enjoy ! The reply is perfect, I was indeed going to ask for speciale pictures. Love it without the stripes
Christian your speciale is a black beauty and pairs really nicely with the F12. I love black Ferraris and I had one color Nero non metallic that was absolutely magnificent during the next 10 minutes after being washed. The problem was that even a simple finger print showed and because of that I practiced so much and so often cleaning the car that I became one of the best car washers in the area where I live
Yes, i know that specific nero problem after several nero Ferraris and always i think, no nero again but i looooove nero too much...
I'm still a little bit anxious when it come to full PPF because i have bad luck on already 2 Ferraris with the factory PPF on the front bumper with paint damage at removal. And i love paint and paint detailling so i made the problem with nero to a hobby... Additional in my eyes some stone chips are ok for history...
K. you are right, for PPF a professional is important and i'm sure, Topaz and Co are very good in their jobs but i'm always afraid about paint damage at removal because i didn't have the biggest trust in the paintwork... And i think, but thats only me, that i really enjoy a well detailed pure paint and the paint can get some signs of use.
No problem. I was referring to the classic Pininfarina script badge on the front fender below the turn signal indicator. Its missing in the picture you posted perhaps due to the artistic blurring effect. I noticed it right away as it is so prominent on my F12 and every other F12 I've seen. Starts to look like an 812 without it which is unsettling to my eyes. Sorry can't upload an image as example because I'm getting errors saying the file is too large and its just a .jpg that I've posted here before.
I agree with you the Pininfarina fender badges are prominent. Despite of being very discrete if the badge isn't there or if it is wrongly positioned, the F12 profile doesn't look right. When my F12 was wrapped they removed the two Pininfarina badges and ordered new ones to be sticked on top of the film and when the car was ready the new badges hadn't arrived yet. I collected the car without the badges and when I looked at it I immediately felt something was missing and that's how it looked (picture 1). One week later the badges arrived and I took the car back to the detailer to place them and in the meantime he collected from Ferrari data the necessary positioning dimensions in order that the badges were placed on the exact spot. He gave all that information to an apprentice boy (picture 2) and told him in front of me how to place the badges and left a sketch with the positioning measurements. The young guy did everything exactly as told while I watched and when the first badge was in place I looked and something didn't felt right (picture 3) and while I was trying to figure what the detailer arrived. He said to the boy without hesitation that the badge wasn't positioned correctly and told him to remove it straight away before the glue hardened. The boy had taken the correct positioning measurement for the badge height but the wrong one for the horizontal placing but eventually everything was put right and that's how they look in place.
