Originally I wanted to do bare aluminum with a dark gray stripe and regular Matt carbon. The outside worked and was pretty wicked but was totally monochromatic. The inside of black, gray, and carbon didn't work and was boring.

The second round was to do just blue stripe and Matt carbon outside with an interior of black and charcoal with a blue leather stripe on racing seats. That didnt work for me either.

Lastly round is what you see and I think it works. I used all Matt blue carbon and it is far more subtle than the gloss regularly seen. There are a few adjustments still to be made when I get back to the U.S.

December built date and rough guess is May/June delivery

good call on the blue carbon Ron. I can't even begin to wrap my head around the extra campionario required for the clear coated aluminum body panels...;)

Is the alcantara nero? I would suggest Blu Scuro. Perhaps the seat center stripe in blue. Anyway just some random thoughts going through my mind. Love the engine bay!

I can only state the obvious: a light grey, possibly solid, not from the standard or usual historic ranges. Maybe a rarer Ferrari colour form the past or even painted to sample.

Had a great day out on the Philip Island circuit a couple of weeks ago - received a few pics today. Very different driving experience to 458SA - I felt I was significantly faster in the SA on the slower corners on previous track days but experiencing the brutal acceleration as I was coming down the main straight in the TDF was unforgettable (indicated max speed 287 kmh which was about 10 kmh more than in the SA). For someone with my very limited skill level and track experience, the TDF will take more time for me to get to the speeds and fluency I felt I was achieving in the SA through the corners.

I think it would be the same for all but the most experienced drivers. The Speciale and hence SA are just so easy and flattering to drive whereas the tdf would appear to be the ultimate analogue digital car, if that is not a contradiction in terms, but the ultimate rewards will be far greater? Great plate! (obviously great car)

Interesting color... it doesn't look like anything I've seen so far on a F...

It looks like BMW individual "Moonstone" color.

It reminds me of a kind grigio medio in far far more light, with the blue hint removed...

Fantastic feedback. The color from instagram reminds me of Porsche's "Chalk" color, its not the same though. I usually don't like colors like this but this one looks great.

I don't get the appeal of fashion grey/chalk, ect. There are so many better color choices out there....like no paint at all !!! :p

"Moonstone"... I'm thinking you mean "Mondstein"? :D Maybe the shade is close but Mondstein is very metallic/pearl. This tdf looks solid to me, at least from the distance in the available pics. I agree however this is like a notably lighter Grigio Medio. Following the line of Gr.Scuro and Gr.Medio, if it's a Ferrari colour it should be called Grigio Chiaro or something similar. But anyway I'm sure there has been a Grigio Chiaro at some point before in the Ferrari range.

The color is indeed called Mondstein but is usually reffered as "Moonstone" in the Amercian BMW community

100% agreed on the name suggestion. Must be so cool to create your own color at TM and choose the name...

The car is Swiss registred so maybe Massini can chime us in about the color.

Abu Dhabi usually pictures a bit darker but the greenish effect is undoubtedly similar. Could be?... not sure!

In any case it looks fantastic and I desperately need to know the colour name... anyone who can do some research about the colour, please do! :D

About the hypothetical colour name... Grigio Medio means "medium grey", that is, between bright and dark. The lighter version of a middle grey would be "light grey", better than "light medium grey" which would be redundant in the adjective. So I hope you will agree that just "Grigio Chiaro" would be better suited than "Grigio Medio Chiaro" :)

That is my reaction to the color as well- looks a bit like primer- but the more I look, the more I like! I think you both are right- this car looks really good and I have yet to see a bad color for the car. I am jealous (in the happy way) for you guys!
