I still don't undersatnd where all the dislikes come from regarding black wheels, or black and yellow combos.
From nowhere... Or maybe it was born in a Guy Ritchie style scene A pub in London. A few men with a cockney accent : Camlet, Traveller, and some others : They decided one day that those were awful items, while those were mega-popular until this day, especially during the GTO Era And they almost convinced me...
If someone had described me the car I would have said Naaah But it kind of like it. Too bad the picture is not very good. Maybe that's Fritz D'Orey's car... dedicated to his racing days.
Marcel, you're right - I suspect he received the picture "yesterday" and doesn't realise there's a 2 - 3 week lag between production and the picture!!!
Very nice. Is the number on the door painted on, or is it a decal? What is the significance of Number 171, if I may ask?
Yes Its a hommage to 1956 Ferrari 250 GT Berlinetta 0557GT the stripe is more thin than other tdfs built.
Isn't it 0563GT? (although my knowledge is only on google search, I do not have my reference books at hand...) Looks gorgeous anyway.
Oh my.... That is such a lovely car. Similar to what David Lee did in spec'ing his yellow TDF.... But this blue is far nicer.

Purely a guess but I believe that would be paint and not a decal; done before the clear coat stage. Certainly a very personal tdF design that looks amazing!
Definitely 0563GT then (8th in Tour de France 1956, 5th in Tour de France 1957 when it wore that number 171).
