john, drove past your place yesterday. people (neighbors?) were out cleaning up minor debris. no visible damage. the park across street was untouched, not a branch out of place! power seems to be on in 90% of the cbd and most of the french quarter too. uptown is (unfortunately for me) spotty. hope you guys are able to make it back quickly!
How are things in Mandeville? I'll be heading back tomorrow. I've heard that gas is in short supply and that i-12 was backed up.
I haven't bought gas in Mandeville, but when I left for work this am the station on HWY 59 by I-12 had gas. Traffice was flowing west as I headed east to gulfport, hopefully my commute this afternoon won't take forever.
As always, very nice shots Richard. I managed to open up today on generator power and with only 1/3 of our employees back. Quite a mess in my yard but it is still far better than Katrina. Mitchell
Power finally came back in SE Lakeview this morning. Somebody let Franco know in case he doesn't already. Flash
I ended up evacuating and staying out in the middle of nowhere in Zachary, LA. We lost power. But my parents house in NO had power on Tuesday. Go figure. We should have just stayed here. Six blocks away I still don't have power though.
