8 PM update...Looks like Cuba is pushing Ike towards Texas; "CLP5" is one heck of an "outlier"... Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Just one more good site: http://web.tampabay.rr.com/wolfy/ I feel good about this one going to Texas IMHO.
Glad to see it going to our friends in Texas. Maybe Houston can evacuate to New Orleans and we can show them how to enjoy a hurricane or three.
Hello front, On behalf of the people of Louisiana thank you for pushing Ike away from us and letting us have electricity for another week and stopping those other five gray hairs from popping up on my head.
This thing needs to go away. I've got two closings that need to happen and they can't until the storm is out of the gulf.
Shoot, I haven't worked in over a week. I feel like a complete lazy bum compared to my usual workaholic self. For a couple days it was nice but now I'm sick of it.
They're reporting Ike to be the fourth largest disaster, dollar-wise (after Katrina, Andrew and the WTC bombing) so it looks like that front was a blessing for most of Louisiana, especially N.O.
That is odd that 9/11 is included in that figure given that it isn't really possible to gauge how much it cost us and how much of it was simply a catalyst for what was already brewing in the financial markets at the time. Either way though, there is no doubt that Ike is going to be extremely costly.
