While I don't 100% agree with the call I disagree with this.

The incident was a penalty no question. However it was a mix of "fluke" circumstance and it turned into something nasty. When seeing someone bloody and borderline knocked out it pushed for a more aggressive call. Everything from the cross check, he lost his balance, and the other player following through (just like almost anyone would) in the play.

They should NOT be apologizing or suspended. It was a play on the ice and it should stay that way. It's nowhere near the worst call in the playoffs so far.

    Keith,

I wish you and your team great luck. I will be supporting the Canes simply from what I saw in the regular season. Your team deserves a hell of a run and with a little luck the cup. Good luck and enjoy the playoff beards/beers.

In addition my neighbor is a die-hard SJ fan. So that will be my support as we move forward. Very sad as I wanted to go next week to Washington and see a game.

This round I'm looking for SJ, Canes, STL, and Boston to push through.

Not being assigned = suspended :D

Once an official is removed from a round of the playoffs, he never gets another assignment the rest of the way

Looks like the Bs are dealing with the same quiet whistles on interference calls the Lightning did. Maybe they need to suspend a few more refs.

The Bruins did benefit from a very questionable holding call that wasn’t even a hold. A player trying to avoid Chara that rubs him ends up getting a penalty. These refs should be suspended too

I just hope that the Islanders haven't lost their edge because of their long layoff. I don't remember any team in any league, having swept its first-round series, having to wait this long to play again.

Honestly I don't understand why the NHL is even involved here.

The Knights did not lose because of this penalty. They lost because they allowed 4 goals in 10 minutes and then could not win in OT.

The refs made the call. Right or wrong they made the call and you had a 3 goal lead. Losing that lead is YOUR fault, not the refs fault. The refs did not add 3 goals to the Sharks score.

The Knights need to learn from this and make them hungrier next year. Their meltdown was not the first time we've seen it this year. They had a habit of quick multiple goals at critical times and this was just one more example we saw.

The Knights had a good season but not a great season. The loss to the Sharks was not the refs fault. It was their fault.

Nothing against Dallas but I still think St Louis will take them.

Normally I don't like empty net goals but the one today was a great play. Not only did the player stop the last rush and possible scoring chance a the blue line but in falling down he made a perfect shot all the way down the ice to seal it. Well done.

At least Vegas tied it and put it into OT and then ran that OT very long.

Vegas had 2 great chances to brush off the Sharks. Game 6 at home and being up 3 goals in the 3rd period in Game 7.

To me the Game 6 was the decisive blow. That's a game they should have put away and didn't. People may talk about the Game 7 meltdown but it was Game 6 that set it up.

Whether it's spelled "Caines" or 'Canes, Carolina is "ABEL" to beat the Isles.

I think that now the Islanders are in trouble. Losing two in a row at home is not good. Maybe they should have played them in Uniondale instead of in Brooklyn.

What a wild 3rd period. After being tight most of the game, the team's explode for 5 goals in the last 8 or 9 minutes.
