I have noticed a large increase in fighting across the board in the playoffs and some really dirty hits. Even if the refs call it they do it anyway. But I do agree the refing has been odd and inconsistent.

The officiating is 100% to blame for the boil over that led to Kadri’s actions

Last night I saw a few Calgary players get cross checked very hard after the whistle while they were standing there doing nothing, but no calls. Then Colorado rushes up the ice and from what I saw was a clean stick check yet Calgary gets a penalty.

It’s been disappointing so far, but aren’t we saying this during the playoffs every year about how bad the refereeing is?

I do not disagree about the officiating but Kadri needs to control that.

5 games is a little high I was expecting 3-4. Stupid play.

Not a good idea at all. Ovechkin destroyed the poor 19 year old.

If the Lightning get swept in round 1, that is probably in the same realm as the Virginia basketball team, as the #1 overall seed, losing to a #16 seed in last year's NCAA tournament.

I suppose that Tampa Bay's predicament can be traced to them clinching their playoff spot way too early, resulting in them becoming fat, happy and complacent.

I think they’ll come out swinging and crush cbj tonight but lose the next. They were really clicking in the third of last game and I think would of tied it had they another 3 mins of play. Kuch is going to have a massive game. I would be amazed if they get swept.

What's amazing is that they went up 3-0 in game one, lost that game, and have been in a funk since. CBJ are just pounding the net tonight.

Agree. They seem to have lost their mojo and historically dropped a game or two following an extended break this season and last. The other issue is Tortorella is playing old-school hockey in the Lightning crease, planting a guy for a screen at every possession. For some reason the Bolts aren't addressing that, perhaps due to lack of coaching, lack of physicality, or fear of the whistle. Hopefully they get on the screen and find a line or two that click to pull off a win tonight...

    TAMPA GOES DOWN!!!!!

Congrats to the Blue Jackets! You came so close to taking out Washington last year -- this makes up for it.

I'm amazed. Lightning flamed out against the ****tiest team in the playoffs. No point cracking the champagne yet... they'll be annihilated when they face the Leafs or Bruins since both of those teams will actually show up to play.

I still stand by this. Amazing how one single play can change the entire outcome.

Hellz yea I’m amazed. Tampa’s gotta do something this off season. Too small to play old school hockey. Now if only the bruins could get it together...

there are two outstanding coaches at Columbus and Islanders. NYI went from team allowing most goals last year to Vezina winners this year. What were the Caps thinking in letting Trotz go? They are in a real scrap now with a totally out-manned Carolina team. If Carolina somehow wins fame 4, they might get four straight. (And I have not been drinking). Bob, you in Las Vegas this week? Heading out tomorrow. If there is a game Sunday we are going to try to sell one of the Ferrari and buy 4 tickets.

Calgary goes down in FLAMES again! Colorado come back 2 down in the 3rd, ties it up to go to OT, kills off a penalty in OT and WINS Amazing game.

Think about this... not that long ago Colorado was fighting just to make the playoffs. Now they are one game away from knocking off the best team in the division.
