Okay, so here it is, let the world know how you feel about the overpriced, gas guzzling, environment killing, 1 man yacht on wheels.....did I miss anything?

Personally, I need one for work to haul around all my detailing equipment, so if you see a nice new Escalade or Yukon or whatever in Dallas with just one person in it, it may be me heading over to detail your car..... ;)

I personally dig big trucks and SUV's only if they are used the right way. Up here in Colorado you can't make it one season without one because of the changing weather all the time.

Now I can't stand it when they are used improperly such as if you aren't driving around with the kids in the back why the hell do you need to drive the living room around if its just yourself?. get a car!.
Who can forget those guys who think they are tough **** and throw some rims on and go waste gas just to look gangsta and blast music!. I hate those guys!.

I like them. You can cross the Sahara and stuff. They're not like station wagons.

Just plant a tree and fart less. That should be good enough to counter balance the SUV effect! :D

DFW has a mess of them, a lot of high school rich kids in my neighborhood tricked out with lift kits but never take them off roading. Never been much of a fan of them myself but I do like pick-ups, maybe it's the Texan in me. I'll take my camera out with me this week & get a few photos.

For towing my 28' double axle trailer, hauling visiting family around, or long distance Soccer tournament travel sharing the ride with another family, they cannot be beat.
As a "status" symbol I think a BMW works better.

LOL that is the ugliest truck ever. Atleast this truck was tuned to get 20 mpg after its lift and 42" tires.

I hate them. ****ing block my view when im behind them, they are slow as hell when cornering , and their drivers just think they own the road.

No, those are Harley riders. Passed a gaggle of 16 and their chase truck awhile back at 160. Blowby is a b1tch.
So I hate onroad SUV's that slow down to 5 over speed bumps and are never off road. A Range Rover off-road, however, is a great thing.

Yes indeed. As Clarkson once put it, The Range Rovers were to take the people in the city out into the wilderness, but Toyota built theirs to bring the people in the ruff to the cities.

Not an SUV fan. I dig trucks... just the one person, pointless SUVs are... pointless. If you are using it as a utility for detailing purposes or a business, sure. But sheeesh, these moms on the phone. I cycle to work and I need to get a small air horn.

An SUV has its place in the auto market such as when one needs them for work to haul heavy loads AND carry 4 to 7 passengers at the same time, ect. . However, most people that buy them do not have such needs . I would dare say that most SUVs on USA highways are driven by woman and/or teens . Anyone have any statistics on that? They are very dangerous vehicle too with a high incident of roll-over. Even so, some ignorant parents will buy their teenage son or daughter one to drive to high school thinking that because they are big and heavy that they are safer. Take it from a personal injury attorney that has handled several SUV roll-overs...they are not safer! Especially for inexperienced drivers such as teens who are apt to over correct when they veer off the road while talking/texting on the cell phone, installing a CD or adjusting their hair and then tumble back onto the highway out of control colliding with whatever happens to be in the way...If you have a crew of workers that need to ride together while hauling a heavy trailer, buy one...if not, why buy one?

Yeah, but at least they'll look cool rollin' on 24's when its upside down in a ditch! SUV has become another overdone American POS wannabee status symbol. If I see one more broke ass leasing an Escalade with 5 dollar 24's, 26's whatever the latest one-up-ya trend is, get real. And for you country boys that lift 'em like the 80's monster truck craze, show me some pics with mud on them. I've only ever seen these guys pullin' their watercraft toys around town, posers.

So, I guess that makes me a official SUV hater?

    20 MPG isn't **** for a one person Upland-to-Irvine 100 mile a day commuter.

The ignorance of these truck guys is amazing. "I'm getting 20! Sweet, bro! I only spend $500 a month on gas! And $1600 a year on these noisy tires!"

Nobody thinks you're cool with a 50 ft tall truck... so stop it.

Where are you getting 20mpg? That figure seems a little too generous unless you are talking about the new hybrids.

I always find it amusing that people who own FERRARIs are complaining about others who own their own favorite impractical car. Really, for max efficiency the highways should be packed with hybrid sedans full of carpoolers. Thank goodness the world is more varied than that.

On big tires and a diesel I can believe that number. I can pull 18 in my gas-powered truck on stock 20" rims.
