Simon and Michael, Thank you so much, that was exactly what I was looking for, and I thought it was a 330, which is why I could not find it, thanks again, great help. Stephane scaledetails
Hello. Here is his new website: http://www.mps-sportproto.com Not sure why, the link not allways works... Anyway, he's working in a 1/4 scale 330 P3 model and also in a 250GTO also in 1/3 scale size! All with the same amount of detail as the 312... Ernesto Freitas
Good evening ladies and gents, I did a search and didn't find anything so I thought it would be worthwhile to make this post for the Tifosi here. Here is are some videos and information about a Frenchman who has spent over 20,000 hours in labor on a single project. It is a replica of a 312 PB racing car that is as perfect as any might hope to make one. Every piece and part has been researched and handcrafted - even, as you'll see, the tires. The car starts, runs, revs, and will run through all the gears. It's maddening to think that there's no way you could ever drive it! The level of passion is simply amazing. http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-5721579124059513186 http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=3522234692952701573&q=ferrari+312+pb http://www.fineartmodels.com/pages/product.asp?content_area=6&sub_area=139&product_area=139
That is just incredible!! With that much time (15 years) and that much labor, I think he could built it a tad bit bigger, maybe even a 1:2 scale possibly drivable for a midget or kid. But never the less, very impressive indeed..
Before the 'Repost Police' get you, that vid. has been around for quite a while. Hopefully, since you're newbies, you'll get a break this time!
Yeah, yeah, repost and all that. As I say I searched and didn't come up with any previous posts! I first saw this video about six years ago but had forgotten about it until just recently.
Multi-post, so I do not even need to look, but I saw, and heard, it run at Concourso back in the mid-nineties and I can assure that it does not disapoint in person. It almost has the presence of a small go kart. Very cool. George
I came across this video while surfing today...very cool! This guy is a tifosi of the highest level! Oh yeah, Clarkson is in it. Old Top Gear rerun I think. http://www.shoutfile.com/v/P8NtRgag/Stunning_Fully_Functional_13_Scale_Ferrari_312PB
I have seen this car before but I haven't seen that video/interview. Now he wants to make a P4 or a GT40!!! I can't wait to see what he builds but I don't want to wait 12 years to see it. I can see the Ebay bidding wars now if he has to sell his 1/3 Ferrari 312 to finance the next model. I can't imagine what this model will fetch because it is a one-of-a-kind model.
More than amazing! Thanks for sharing, that blew me away. Very talented individual. He could make full size replicas and do pretty well. Assuming Ferrari gave him the OK? I doubt that would ever happen. Paul
20,000 hrs. Functional gear box. I have no words other than to say that he is extremely detail oriented and determined.
I think ferrari should give him a damn car lol, and in return they get to keep that model in their lobby.
yeah...definitely!...Ferrari SHOULD give him a 312pb for his dedication!... he says it "should handle" like a real 312 would...he wouldnt really know that unless a Ken Doll comes to life just like in that Nissan 300zx Commercial of the early 90's! Unless he copied the exact steering mechanism, so it'll replicate the mechanics of the steering...
Repost police have way (!!!!!!!) too much time on their hands, because most of the stuff they report is new to me.. get a life. Incredible video, subject, undertaking. Can you imagine the patients? After 5 years I might look to change to a TR =)
This guy should be employed by Ferrari or FNA: I am sure he would be able to solve many issues we have to deal on our own. Saluti,
