If I was Ricciardo, I would stay put at Red Bull.
By all accounts, they have the ingredients to have a very good car next year.

And +1 to that post! :)

Having a Monaco Grand Prix to your name when you're an F1 driver is priceless - You've become a part of F1 history, and in a way, a part of F1 royalty!

Having another $1M in the bank account will be completely meaningless!

We see how it goes rest of this year ..if Ferrari start to get their act together to be superior to RB then Ricci might be convinced to jump ship, especially if they start to favour Max.

Double or triple salary (doesn't hurt) ,already has Italian passport the Tifosi would love him! Dad is Italian and Mum 's parents both Italian.

Ferrari would love to hire him, just a question of how much they would have to pay RB,they can afford that too.

It's good to have teams fighting each other to sign you on and offering silly money for it, I am sure. But that doesn't ensure a winning car, as we have seen in the past. I thought that winning is all a top F1 racer wants.

Just look at Alonso, enticed to join the Scuderia with a big retainer and going nowhere for 5 years, before being attracted by another pot of gold from Honda and still struggling to get into Q3.

He may have made a lot of money in the last 8 years, but his career in going in a downward spiral. Now he is an over-priced racer with not much recent success to his name.

I think that if you really want to win, you should try to get the best car first of all, and hope that the money will follow.

After Montreal, how can I join your club?

Another "disapoiniting result for me, and the team should realy improve their act-weekend"

Surely i agree with some of the discussion about whining. But when a driver deliberately uses twisted facts to make a point (in this case that he was hold up by Max, look at the lapcharts on http://en.mclarenf-1.com/index.php?page=chart&gp=962&graf=3&dr1=Daniel%20Ricciardo&dr2=Max%20Verstappen, in my book he's whining. It almost looks like Rici is forcing a break-up with the cans.

Well, to be honest, in that graph you see that in the first part of the race Ricciardo was as fast as Verstappen (so he was indeed being held up). Later he was slower, but we have to consider other factors: he was stuck behind Raikkonen, had to fight with Rosberg and I think he was on different tyres. Also the team told Verstappen to let Ricciardo pass and he didn´t obey (again).

It seems that Ricciardo is having a rude awakening to the reality of F1 politics and probably he won´t be smiling so often from now on.

According to his own comments after the race, Max was preserving tires in this phase as the frontrunners were unobtainabe anyway. When asked not to hold up Rici (the team did NOT ask him to move aside) He did exactly that by pushing the trottle a bit more. This is also clear from the laptimes. Most of the rest of the race his laptimes were quicker than Rici's.

Politics is part of the story, I do agree. But in the end of the day even politics in F1 mostly serve one goal: getting the most points possible.

If you see the difference on Rosberg overtaking Rici (Rici almost let him pass by as being on a lap) and Rosberg overtaking Max ( Max fought it off regardless of status, resulting in Rosberg not succeeding).

Clearly Max has the Media attention and that's why the cans are there in the first place. But Max simply has just more than that. The guy truly is an absolute once in a lifetime talent. I'm happy to be there.

+1. RBs new number 2 driver is struggling to come to terms with Max who is not only there by merit, but also a significantly better prospect for the future. His defence against Ros was absolutely world class. It's a privilege to see this kid perform on the world stage (apart from when he crashes like he did at Monaco…).

This has been my point all along, but seems to go unnoticed because he portrays the "nice smiling guy" outward persona. If you read into his comments, however, it points to a seemingly different person... someone who pats himself on the back a bit too often and points fingers and calls out people a bit to much while excluding his own faults. So here again, he's calling out his team.

I didn't hear Christian saying, "Yeah Ric screwed us again with a mediocre drive."

So...we get a guy that is quick, composed, tough in wheel to wheel racing, that speaks his mind truthfully and calls out his team for stupid errors and he's not supposed to be liked?

Or you could get the Merc Duo who whine and read from a script. At least Ricciardo had the balls and maturity to talk about Monaco and not walk away like Hamilton did last year.

You could get Kimi who's constantly complaining on the radio about slower cars instead of just passing them.

I swear it seems the only people happy to be there are the Manor guys and the Renault kids.

With success comes expectations, with expectations comes frustration of failure.

Ricci still seems to have his head on better at the moment than most.

I didn´t know this info, I´d only heard Ricciardo´s version of the story.

For some reason, it seems that Ricciardo is getting paranoid about his team.
