Got my first today, at a parking meter in the Short North. First in 6 years with one plate. Is the CPD on a mission? I hope not. The ticket was issued 3 minutes after I walked away from the car. They must have been waiting for me to leave….lame.

I've heard of people reasoning with cops and talking their way out of a ticket but has anyone had any luck at fighting these ridiculous tickets after finding one under their wiper? Any advice is appreciated.

The parking nannies in the Short North and downtown area are notorious for handing out front plate violation tickets. Next time you park there just have the front plate visible on the dashboard.

Thanks for I had not heard that before. Very good to know. Thanks for the tip. I'm a bit surprised that a plate on the dash is enough since I got a warning on that once before, but I'm glad to hear it works for you. Much easier than pulling the plate out of the trunk and attaching it each time you park.

Ever heard of anyone successfully fighting one of these tickets?

Not that I know off. The exotic cars parked there usually have their front plates on the dash for that purpose.

When I got my 575, I called the State Trooper location near my house and the response was," We are a one plate state and that is the state law. In all practicality (given the car), it is up to the officer to determine a fine or not. It is unlikely you would be ticketed for just that however if you were cited for speeding or another moving violation, there you can would most likely be ticketed for that as well". Months later, I was pulled over for something else (only warned) and asked the trooper on this position and he grudgingly said the same thing. He did suggest keeping the plate on the dash. Bottom line is when you get pulled over, leave the attitude somewhere else and you may get lucky. Good luck.
