Who's going to win ?
Meh, both teams are overrated imo. I say OSU wins because they have home field advantage. Edit: Just so I don't instantly offend anyone with such a short statement, I feel all of college football this year is weak.
Why, because the Florida teams suck? Are we picking our betting lines, or am I predicting that Michigan will win by a margin of -7?
OSU is 4 and 1 against Mich since Tressel became coach. The 2001 National Championship for OSU was a test. Every game was tuff, overtime every other game. Last minute wins. Exiting ball games. This year they steamrolled everyone but Texas. They have not been tested. But we have no. 1 and 2. for a National Championship preview.
No, because the Big 10 is weak this year with PSU and Iowa being a huge let down. PSU, Iowa, and Purdue all have winning records, but all to teams with horrible losing records. Wisconsin is the same. They have 1 "quality LOSS" and ZERO quality wins, yet ranked 10th in Coaches. OSU and Michigan have COMBINED played two ranked teams. OSU played Texas with a very inexperienced freshman QB and Michigan played an always overranked Notre Dame. They play in the Big 10 which is having a very off year. That's why last year PSU was all over it since they had real players at the time. Big East is still developing. They have yet to play any non-conference real opponents (Louisville vs. Miami does not count). Big 12 lost an up and rising Oklahoma team. Nebraska and A&M aren't that great and Texas' defense can't stop an unranked team from scoring 45 points (Yes, Colt was injured, but he doesn't play defense). Tech scored all over Texas, too. ACC, wow. Virginia Tech...now you start playing? Miami and FSU were done at the beginning of the year just like I said to Dr Who (Dale). I told him both QBs sucked and look. Both of them didn't start either of yesterday's games and both still lost. Pac-10. Oregon got away with stealing Oklahoma's win. Oregon lost to USC like they should have. USC had 3 close calls with unranked teams. Washington State, Washington, Arizona State were all close games and all unranked with the next game being the loss to Oregon State. Since then, they bounced back from that loss to shut out Stanford (albeit a crappy team), but more importantly Oregon, which still hasn't proved that much. It is an improvment. Cal sucks. Lost to Tennessee (SEC) big time. Lost to Arizona. Lame. SEC. Once again proves to be the toughest conference. Tennessee loses their qb so they lose to LSU and Arkansas. Where did Arkansas come from? They're inconsistent. Barely got by Alabama by 1 point ('Bama FG kicker missed THREE game winning attempts). Squeaked by Vandy by 2 and South Carolina by 6. Same with UF. We should be blowing out Vandy and South Carolina, but like Arkansas, we didn't. Georgia is just up and down inconsistent. You lose to Vanderbilt at your homecoming, but win AT Auburn. Wow. They have 3 QBs, so they're not consistent (key word here). Auburn loses two at home to unranked teams at the time. That's sorry. LSU was screwed most on calls at Auburn (lost 7-3) and fumbles/int at Florida. We'll see if they can beat Arkansas in the final season game. Independent: Notre Dame. You get blown out by Michigan at HOME. Almost lose to a terrible Michigan State. Almost lost to UCLA. Get out of here. Final word: College football this year is weak overall. USC is in the driver's seat to go to the championship game since they don't even have a Pac-10 championship game (like Big 12 and SEC do). They play an overranked Cal next week and then Notre Dame. They're 4th place in the Coaches poll only 8 points below Florida. Florida plays a crappy I-AA (yes, DOUBLE A) football team next week so we'll fall if USC wins. UF's defense might not stand up to Arkansas' rushing so we might lose SEC Championship. If Cal beats USC and USC beats Notre Dame, and UF wins out, UF is in the championship game, but I doubt it. (coming from a Gator)
I wish I knew who was going to bring their 'A' game...... And I agree: college football is weak this year. It's called 'parity'.
Hey, Gainesville is pretty good this year! I'm a Miami grad, and it pains me to say that we aren't at their level this year. But there is always next year! too bad Jeff bowden is stepping down as FSU OC, I was hoping he would stay at that position (or head coach) forever. BT
I'm hoping Michigan by a blowout so we don't have to endure a rematch in the NC. And based on my post above, it is obvious why I would not vote for OSU (even when they are favored). 2002 was no Fiesta! BT
If the game was at night, I'd pick OSU by 12+, but it's a day game, and as usual in big games it will come down to turnovers. We haven't seen much of Ted Ginn or Steve Breaston, who will break out ? This game can go either way, I pray it doesn't come down to a stupid penalty like pass interference putting the ball in FG range for somebody...
Yea, glad it came down to the end like that instead of one just pulling away (I got bored at 28-14). Although really no defense played.
