While reading the service manual i noticed they specify 800 grams of certain oil additive which needs to be mixed with the oil every Time you do an oil change. However i cannot find anything of this additive in my ferrari maintenance invoices. anyone has a clue whether this is really necessary or not

That snake oil is for quieting the valve lifters on start-up. Same thing is recommended for the 599. Funny thing is the 575M has essentially the same engine as the 612 (F133E vs F133F), but nobody ever complained about lifter tapping on the 575M (or 550, same lifters). 612 must be considerably quieter than the 575M for anybody to notice.
