Been frustrating me for a while that the “Ferrari” lettering on the alloy oil dipstick cap and on the hydraulic steering fluid cap are not straight (ie. 9am to 3pm) when they are correctly seated. Were they ever straight from new? Does anyone have an easy fix that has eluded me? Thanks in advance, look forward to hearing thoughts.

you're not alone. mine too are not "straight" reading. It annoys me too.
Just spit balling here... but I'm guessing they were straight when the seals under the cap were new and not squashed after years of tightening them down. Now the cap rotates a little further than it should resulting in the off skew lettering position. Sounds good at least, right?

Best I’ve heard so far! So. New seals? That could be interesting. Might have to look more closely, see what they’re made from, and remanufacture........

You can shim it up with additional gasket material or metal shims. Same thing we do to line up the muzzle brakes on rifles. Except, of course, once it is on we do not take it off again.

Copper shims would probably work pretty well.

Haha, this isn’t such a problem. The wheels rotate with normal usage, so the cavalino rampant may sometimes be on its head . Bentley have solved this problem with self-leveling centre caps. Next project is to see how I can adapt these with a Ferrari caps to fit factory wheels.

Just joking about the PPI (making sure the lettering lines up before purchasing the car).

    Just kidding.
Just curious though-- how many miles on your car? Mine has only 23K and none of my caps don't read straight.

Oh, but does each center cap have the feet pointing to the tire valve? :)
