bought a 2015 spider one year ago, from a ferrari dealer including the two year factory warranty

it’s oil change time - do I have to bring it to an authorized dealer to maintain the integrity of my warranty ? it’s a long drive…

Does Cauly not offer transport service? Ferrari of Lake Forest, who I deal with does. In LF’s case, they offer transport within 500 miles of the dealership.

Email Joe or Marcus and ask, email don't call so that it's on record.

Exactly what I would say, get it in writing. An oral statement isn't worth the paper it's not written on.

One of the main points of the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act is that it is illegal for a manufacturer to require dealer service in order to maintain a warranty.

However, that doesn't mean you can just take your car to ANY mechanic and use ANY parts or fluids - you would have to prove the service was done properly, with parts and fluids that meet Ferrari specifications. So if you're willing to document that, I think you should be OK.

I had a client with a new 430. He had me do an oil change. I used oil of the correct spec and weight. Later when he decided to by a Ferrari extended warranty he was refused because I did not use the correct brand. They cannot refuse warranty but they can refuse to sell you an extended warranty.
Some dealers are very punitive. It was really stupid too because he was a serial Ferrari buyer and that was the last Ferrari he bought from that dealer.

Understood, thanks for the real world data.

So in this case another factor in the decision is whether the OP wants to extend the warranty or not.
