So About 250 km ago i changed my oil /filters etc in a 360 from 2002. from the standaard shell helix to the motul 300V Same spec as the helix 5w40 but no foaming etc, Also i change my oil Every 3000 km. Since it s Esther based and it s loved on a lot of forums . I give it a try...

    Here is the problem

After a good run and some driving my engine is ticking a bit on idle :-(

Never had that before , it s running strong . But don t know if i have to go back to the helix of i have to use a thicker oil to have the ticking go away.

    Any advise/help would be appreciated.

    Thnx melvin

FWIW, I hear ticking on my 355's and about a week ago I was checking the oil on my buddies 458 and it was ticking too.

I think it's normal noises. Lot of moving parts and common valve train noises.. :)

    Injectors tick
Exhaust pipes tick if they're getting cooler

I looked up the technical data on this stuff.

The startup viscosity is in the right ball park,
The warm temp viscosity is in the right ball park,
The HTHS viscosity is in the right ball park,

Start looking at the oil temperature gauge and remember at what temperature does the ticking start.

Thanx for the reply s. I know Ferrari injectors are loud but this is more a ticking from a valve Or something . It starts at a good operating temp. After a good hour drive. When it then idles i think the oil becomes to thin and ticking car be heard. Imo im thinking there is no better oil then this. And to just put in a thicker oil Will Cause my oil pressure to go up more then the engine can handle.... 🤔

Also to note is that i run RON 98-102 ultimate . And Also my idling drops 100 rpm so it Goes from 700-900 all the time. No codes Or anything on the car... But that was Also with the shell helix

That's too low for a 360 ... but your tacho may be off by a couple of 100rpm (I already saw that).
Just plug in an OBD2 reader, you should get a steady 1010-1030rpm warm idle.
