I have a 01 911 turbo with approx 25k miles on the it. The car burns a good bit of oil, almost 2 quarts between 5k mile oil changes. I dont drive it too hard, and i only put about 80 miles a week on it. The porsche mechanic said that the car should stop burning oil after 20k miles. Any ideas what may be going on? By the way, I also own CS, so save me the "sell the porsche and get a ferrari" Thanks

i would question the condition of the turbo, sounds like the turbo bearings / seals are using the oil. you could do a compression test to verify the condition of the bottom end, but on such a low mileage Porsche, i wouldn't think the bottom end would be an issue.

my only other suggestion is the car simply doesn't like the oil or grade of oil you are using.

i just sold my euro 84 911 Carrera with ???? miles on it and it barely used any oil.
