Oil Cooler Hoses Replacement - Drain Oil?

    I have to replace both the upper and lower oil cooler hoses (like pretty much every other hose on this car).

    Does the oil need to be drained to do this job... or I guess I should say, SHOULD it be drained?

    No real need. You will probably be taking off the oil filter to do it so does make some sense. Remove cooler with hoses attached and try to get them free from cooler on the bench. Damaging the cooler getting hoses off was so common that back in the day when it was all available and not stupid expensive we decided which to keep and just cut the other off.
