Just posting my experience doing this myself for the first time. Hope it might help someone else.

I purchased the Hill Engineering filter wrench.

It is expensive, but there is absolutely no way I could have removed the existing filter without it. It is very well made.

I have the Spyder. I had watched a YouTube with the guy saying, "there are some extra bit that need to be remove if you have a Spyder". Well, that was not a lot of help. You will need good light to do the job. I used both a portable work light as well as a headband led light. The filter is ahead of and below the coolant expansion tank. It will be easier if you remove the two bolts ( 10 mm ) and their associated bushings. The tank is now connected by flexible hoses and can be move toward the rear to get better access to the filter. I found access to be best from the driver's side ( USA car ). With filter wrench in hand and working from slightly below the level of the filter you can slip the wrench over the top of the filter. It fits perfectly. Now use a 27mm by 1/2" socket and put that on the filter wrench. I found this works better than a 1/2" square extension. Once the socket is over the wrench and fully seated, work your 1/2" extension into the socket from above. You may need to reposition the vacuum like hoses a bit and push on the crossover pipe that goes between the heads. Once in place you will be able to apply enough torque to remove the old filter. Mine was on there extremely tightly. I had to use a cheater on my breaker bar to get to loose. The filter can be removed through the same access you used to put on the filter wrench. It did not drip any oil. Once you are this far you are home free. Lubricate the "O" ring on your new filter - put everything back - wrench, socket, extension, and I torqued to 22 ft.lb. I will attached some pics. Russ Image Unavailable, Please Login

You forgot the part that involves drinking a 6 pack and tripling how long it should take.
