Hey! At the next service on my 360 -02 I thought of changing the original oil filter to a K&N filter, but I can not find the K&N number. Is there anyone who has switched to K&N and can give me the number. Micke from sweden
Dude, I'm in agreement with you 360%. Like you, I'm also questioning that decision by Ferrarimicke My comment was pointed at him, not you
Personally never really been a big fan of K&N products. Agree with others..why change what works? If you are looking to save a few pennies this is not the place to look.
It was someone who runs a rally who thinks that high-performance engines work best with K&N filters. So I was just going to hear here. You have convinced me that purflex is the best for my 360.
K & N air filters are probably the worst thing you can put on a car. They let through too much dirt. That makes me question their oil filters too. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Why anyone would replace the oem oil filter with a Napa or rebranded Napa (K&N) filter is beyond me… did the k&n air filters let too much oil in that resulted in maf issues?
I read an article of one who tested oil filters on some Ferrari's. He tried an off brand (non-Ferrari specified) unit. As the engine was idling he felt the can and could feel it pulsing! His advice was clear. Don't chance it! So before one decides to try an alternative think of high revving with that filter and what could happen at high oil pressures to that filter!~ Is it really worth saving a few dollars!
+1. Engines bring in hundreds of cubic feet of air per minute. No matter how little oil there is on the K&N air filters, it comes off and has to go somewhere. That “somewhere” is past your MAFS, contaminating them over time. You gradually lose power with no real warning. Also, while they can flow more air, they also allow more dirt in. More dirt, more wear. Yes, they can help breathing in rally and race cars, but they do tear-downs much more often than street-driven cars. As for oil filters, our cars have pressurized dry sump systems, a filter failure could be really bad news. Sent from my iPad using FerrariChat
I have seen aftermarket oil filters explode(Not 360 specific) Not very common but they can.. Usually bypass spring internally was the issue with lower cost filters.
