I've never had or made enough money to afford luxury of being cheap.

 

These aren’t new, people have just become more aware of them in America. Historically they involved multi family buildings. They were (and maybe still are) common in Japan going back close to 100 years.

 

That’s the worry. What happens when it all collapses?

 

That’s the difference between frugal and cheap. I can’t afford cheap either.
