Oil for 430

You can get the Shell Ultra Helix at any Ferrari dealer and also some independant Ferrari repair shops. You can top up with Mobil 1 0w-40...but it would be preferable to stick with what is already in there. Be sure you read the manual and that you are checking the level correctly. (check when hot, and right after shutting off the motor)

 

Your 430 is most likely still under warranty.
Your engine warranty should state something to the effect that if you use any oil other than Shell Helix in your engine, you will void the warranty.
This warranty covers only the first two years, and unlimited mileage. There are extended warranties of an additioanl year through Ferrari participating dealerships, (so I hear)
After the first two years, Mobil I, or Royal purple are fine.
The only other place to find Shell Helix outside of a Ferrari authorized dealership is Ricambi, that I'm aware of. For uite sometime Shell Helix was sold at the dealerships for as much as 30.00/ quart! I don't believe this the case anymore, and I knwo it's less than that at Ricambi

Wrong.........check oil level when hot while engine is running at idle speed, just after the radiator cooling fans come on.
