Anyone have an F430 that has oil in the coolant and coolant in the oil suddenly? Looking for some input if it’s the oil/water pump that failed with the seals inside and now the two fluids have mixed, or is this an issue with the heat exchanger under the intake manifold that failed? Any tip on cost to fix these or one vs the other? Was this the cause? Can’t be blown head gasket as the car only has 2500 pampered miles.

Can speak to where it is coming from .. you can check for combustion gases in coolant to see if head gasket
Definitely not from heat exchanger - that is gear oil and coolant .. nothing to do with motor oil

If you drop the tray off under the engine you will see the combined oil /water pump. Look for 3 tell tail holes about 4 mm diameter, these should all be dry and the holes should be clean and no sign of dried crystals from a cooling water leak. let us know what you find and will go from there

Heat exchanger, when fails, "mixes" coolant and gearbox oil, wirh heavy risks for both engine and transmission. Engine oil has nothing to do with heat exchanger.
First guess? Blown head gasket or warped head due overheating.

Transmission oil is crystal clear/clean. Oil on dip-stick has light green/cream colored foam at the tip of the dip stick. Oil is like chocolate milk in color after it was changed 1 year ago and has only 500 miles of driving since. Can't be head gasket the car never overheated and the oil/water pump is dry, but could be an internal seal that no longer separates the engine and coolant. F1 fluid is at perfect level and is solid red. Transmission oil is light gold/white so that is as clean as can be. It us either heat exchanger (oil and coolant one or there bigger one under the intake manifold) or its the oil/water pump.

As I and other said ..the heat exchanger has nothing to do with motor oil ... It exchanges heat with the gear oil which you say is clean ...

One possiblity is that someone put the wrong fluid in the wrong place

    Show pics please

Can’t have wrong fluid in wrong places as the car ran perfect for 15 months.

What I referring to was that someone was checking fluids etc recently and added to wrong place not from service date

Definitely would drain antifreeze and apply pressure and see if you hear hissing anywhere by removing plugs .. also plugs will show if coolant is getting into combustion camber

any white smoke from exhaust ?

There are two heat exchangers in the f430. One for gearbox oil and coolant and one for engine oil and coolant. The smaller heat exchanger is for gearbox and the larger for engine oil.

The engine oil coolers are starting to give problems. Fast becoming an aged out part I think.

Engine oil cooler is big money, £3800+ vat, yet gearbox about £330+vat. From what i can make out the gearbox one is ontop of the engine oil cooler and the water goes through both in series

I just don’t know if I should be begin to change that or start with the easier job of new oil/water pump to see if that is the issue first. That seems like a smaller / one day job. Thats about $2000 for a new one.

I am.looking and don't see that ..I see the gear box as a separate closes circuit and the motor as flooded within valley of block

Based on my research.. why not disconnect oil pipe to exchange and blow air into it ..also have to plug water vapor pipe ..that should tell you if you have a leak.. try with you own body air force first before any compression

If the tell tails are dry, the pump is probably fine. They drain the void space between the water and oil side ( assuming they are not blocked up) so it cannot cross over. You can clean them out with a twist drill in your fingers

It still has to have water to cool both coolers so i assume the water flow is in series

No white smoke and no misfire. Just noticed temperature started to get close to red / 240 degrees and immediately shut off car. That’s when I decided tk check coolant and
Noticed the lime green milky mess.

Checked both parts - not in series .. one is a seperate circuit and the other just sits in the valley where coolant flows around it from heads and block

I would try to see if you can do the "blowing thing" i mentioned above -- it is funny even the WSM mentioned to do that to test the exchanger ( of course this was off car)

Changing to a new oil/water pump is just a waste of money. Inorder for the coolant to get to the oil pump would be a double failure. First in the mechanical seal and then the double lipped oil seal. Between the water pump and oil pump are the three weep holes that Mike 32 mentioned. There would be tell tale signs via the weep holes showing coolent. You stated the the weep holes were dry.
Look somewhere else. If you have coolant in oil and oil in coolant, the issue is in an area where pressures change whereas oil pressure is higher than coolant pressure forcing oil in coolant and when shut down, coolant pressure is higher than oil pressure forcing coolant in oil.

No, no leakage at the tell tails.

So where should the oil be coming from to make its way into my coolant? Same with coolant getting in my oil so im assuming its the main heat exchanger leaking / oozing and finally gave out saturday.
