A small puddle of oil has appeared on the garage floor under the rear of engine or might be the gearbox. Happened twice after long drives. Engine oil level not noticeably changed. Hard to see the source with out a lift. Possibly a seal or oil line connection leak. Is this a know issue? 2007, 30k miles, well maintained. Any comments welcomed.

I had a leak and traced to engine oil filter seal leaking after annual, a lot was lying on the inside of the diffuser, made a mess of everything as fine film on everything . Drop the diffuser and you will be able to see most things

Not nearly enough info to even start to diagnose. Problem is, because of the rear belly pan your leak could be anywhere but has to travel to one of the holes before it hits the garage floor. Identify what kind of fluid it is or get it up in the air. If it smells like rubberized dog crap it's gearbox oil.

Fixed! It was a minor gearbox oil leak. Yes, the oil does smell nasty! A small rubber "O" ring seal had failed. Located behind a small cover, at the bottom left hand rear corner of the gearbox, viewed from behind the car. Not a common fault but quickly diagnosed & repaired by AV Engineering in Kent. Now back on the road!

That sounds suspiciously like the gear oil tube screen cover. Bumper must be removed or drilled to pull the tube screen out. I am planning to drill mine this month when I clean it. Grommets ready to go.
