    Hey All,

I have 2 F430s and each had oil pressure flash to zero momentarily then back on. A year ago I replaced a sender on an 07’ with 12k miles and just now on an 05’ with 22k miles for the same reason.

I think it’s beneficial to replace a cheap part (~$200) in 15 minutes with a mere 24mm wrench because if you see low oil pressure it could be a more serious issue so might as well eliminate a common problem that gives false readings.

Here is the oil pressure sender (with the connector taken off), view is from the rear passenger quarter panel looking forward and underneath the MAFs and Throttle Body area:

I used an open end 24mm wrench; it was a bit tight to get a wrench in there but not bad. Be cognizant of the other sensors/wire aft of it, don’t hit it with the wrench. I tightened it until the copper crush washer compressed. I then marked it with a yellow paint marker for easy inspection if it were to come loose.

Very easy cheap fast job. Might as well do it as preventative, considering I’ve had a false low pressure alarm on 2 F430s now…

I order almost all my parts from Scuderia Car Parts. Shipping is cheap, and despite being in England I get parts in around 3 days from ordering (wow… global logistics are getting great). I talk to Chris at Scuderia Car Parts when doing bigger jobs to make sure I don’t miss little things like clamps and washers; [email protected]

Because I’m fiscally irresponsible and immature & a friend sold his that I knew was in great shape and he needed the money quickly.

It's good to know that the sender is accessible without removing the intake runners.

Fortunately it's at the back of the engine, not the front.
