So I just got my 360 (which I am loving, btw) and had a quick question about oil pressure. It bounces around all over the place based on RPM's. Which I assume makes sense to some degree. The needle hovers between 0 and 70 when cruising at low rpm's (2.5k). Then climbs all the way to the other side at redline. Is this normal? Doesn't seem to be.

Notorious issue. Replace sending unit (it's under the oil filter).

Is it something that has to be addressed now, or can I wait until the car goes in for a service? It's just the gauge giving me wrong info, correct?

Oddly enough I had the same issue after the car sat due to the horrible winter here in the northeast.

    Needle bounce around.

Now it's rock solid. But since I worry over stupid/expensive things I will have it changed...but not until it goes in for the annual and they will be in there changing the oil filter anyway.

    Good luck.

Yeah I just bought mine a few months ago and when I would idle sometimes the red warning light would turn on, it was a bad sender.

So I checked the oil today after about a 15 to 20 minute drive. I noticed my gauge was 1/4 away from the left side of the dial, when at idle. around 70 while cruising, and all the way over on the right in higher RPM's. When checking the oil, it seemed that only the 1st dot on the dipstick got oil on it - it seems kind of difficult to see the oil on the dipstick as it has no texture.

I just bought the car from a Ferrari dealer .. and they did an annual and major service. I put a little over 100 miles on the car. Nothing is on the floor on the garage. Doesn't seem weird that I would be down oil already?

The gauge just has me concerned - I really don't feel like getting to a dealer as the closest one is about an hour an half away. Would it the behavior of the gauge change if my oil was on the lower side of normal? I'm not even sure I want to dump extra oil in there in case I'm reading the dipstick wrong.

I would think it normal to be a little low after running for a while after an oil change as the oil circulates. My indie mechanic gave me a quart of oil after service and told me to check the level when I got home.

You do this when engine is warmed up and at idle on a flat surface.
The cap is too hot to unscrew without a rag or glove. You should then be between the marks. I also don't crank on the cap as when it cools it can be very tight.
