Since in that other thread you mention that your car has about 8,000 miles since a rebuild, I fully agree on your synthetic comment, wait until after the engine is broken in and go with synthetic.

But if your motor has not been touched in decades, going to synthetic is scary...too many scary stories about oil leaks with synthetics and old motors. My motor leaks too much already but when it gets rebuilt, yes I will put synth in.

 

I used a cheap grade oil for running in my engine, after 1000 miles i then put in Castrol Edge sport 10w 60.
