    We all know that oily rags are dangerous, but it's easy to get complacent with handling these things. I know I toss rags in the trash both in the wood shop and the garage.

    This month's Fine Woodworking (June 2005) had this short piece on oil finishing of furniture with this warning about used rags, but this would apply to other oils as well.

    YEP, that looks like the Dic Doc to me. And, look at the additional use he's making of those low mileage exam gloves.

    And you thought he tossed them in the trash after each exam.

    Hah! Not the frugal DD. Making good additional use of those gloves by wiping them clean on those rags to use again the next day.

    Helps with converting Colonial Maple stain the Dark Walnut as well!

    Fine Woodworking is a quality publication. My father, being the avid woodworker (ran his own shop until the burdens of the man struck him down), has the complete set. Fine Homebuilding, too.

    Now, while I'm pimping my dad, he was also on the staff of Woodworker's Journal before it was sold to Rockler and moved to MN. Even made the cover once or twice.

    I see. Read that. Not surprising given my background.

    On a separate note, on the other board, can you keep away from non M car stuff? TY.

    Those people don't look favorably on spending more than 20K on a car ;) At least most of the forum. Thus I had to drag the two M cars to a friends house for those pics.
