Are we ever going to get rid of this guy? LAS VEGAS -- Police arrested O.J. Simpson on Sunday, saying he was part of an armed group who burst into a Las Vegas hotel room and snatched memorabilia that documented his own sports career, long ago eclipsed by scandal. Simpson was being booked on two counts of robbery with a deadly weapon, two counts of assault with a deadly weapon, conspiracy to commit burglary and burglary with a firearm, police said. The district attorney, meanwhile, said he expected Simpson to ultimately be charged with seven felonies and one gross misdemeanor. A judge ordered Simpson held without bail, police said. If convicted of the booking charges, Simpson would face up to 30 years in state prison on each robbery count alone.
On a more serious note. It was said this morning that in his book he states that he would have had to have had help with Nicole and Ron. Apparently, he has had a long relationship with his accomplices in this caper. There are those who see a possible link. I wouldn't want to speculate.
Even though it's been more than a decade, I suspect that there are people who were patiently waiting for OJ to trip up again. A thug is a thug. I think that LV takes a dim view of armed robbery in its casino hotels. The facts aren't all out yet, but I predict that he will go down hard this time. Johnnie Cochran isn't around to save him and I wonder if OJ could afford him if he was.
Very likely, Doc. I already lost my favorite shows on Fox News last night owing to the wall-to-wall hype.
Maybe he was just making a story for his next book...... They should put OJ and Vick together in a cell, they can start there own team if they just had a reciever.
holy sheit!, I heard the audio from the buglary and all I could think.... Image Unavailable, Please Login
OJ's taped confrontation: http://www.cnn.com/2007/US/law/09/17/oj.simpson/index.html#cnnSTCVideo Sounds like he's being forceful enough to warrant these charges.....
This might be like Al Capone all over again... get off on RICO charges but get nailed on tax evasion. OJ beats the dual-murder rap but gets sent to the pokey for this. I really to think this guy believes he is above the law. I *think* most of the law enforcement world probably takes a VERY dim view of him and that probable includes judges, prosecutors and more. Also, I doubt OJ can afford the same level of counsel as before. I hope the system has a woody for OJ and uses all resources to put him away for a long time. Sweet revenge, if you will.
Oh for sure. He knows he has made a mockery of the system and probably thinks he has no problems here either. Perhaps, finally, the jig is up!
It is going to be hard for him to deny doing it since the audio tape is out with him screaming and cursing at the guy they were robbing. He is on the tape telling the guys he is with not to let anyone leave, yet he says he wasn't involved in the robbery. I hope the tape makes it into court. I also heard on the radio that all the stuff was worth about $7k. How stupid is he to risk going to jail for $7k. And half of it was stuff he autographed, couldn't he just make more?
