i decided to go ahead and start sheading a few pounds i started wth the carpets ripped them out tryed to smooth out the cylycone as mush as possible then painted the whole inside floor. next is the front and rear bumper made from carbon fiber. then the hood and rear decklid carbon fiber .then the inside doors and interior as well and last a lexan back window.the last thing will be add the CS stripe sticker of course the sticker alone will add 50 horse to the car right? No for real how much wieght do you think i can shed off the no cats 360

Am i INSANE or am i SANE ???

i think i am begining to agree with eli.

I have very strong opinions about this -- I went through this when I got my first Porsche. I decided that making a street car faster was pointless because driving fast on the streets is a waste of time. I opted to keep my Turbo S "comfy" and bought a dedicated track car.

My best lap times at Lime Rock in the Turbo S: 1:02-ish, $140k, 400+-ish hp

My best lap times in my RSR: 0:57-ish, $60k, 270-ishhp

    Best move you can take.

The reality is, you cannot shed enough pounds in a street car to make weight savings worth anything. If you were really hardcore, you'd eliminate the following:

    - Passenger Seat
    - Sound deadening material (Extensive in a 360)
    - Audio System (Including wiring)
    - Cooling System (Including controls & Fan)
    - Dashboard (You don't need that)
    - Glass (replace with Lexan)
    - Inside Door Panels
    - ABS, Traction Control, etc.
    - Fuel Tank (Get a lightweight Fuel Cell -- not the future tech thing, the bag in an aluminum enclosure thing)

Plus, the $$,$$$ you'll spend on Carbon Fiber parts, light weight wheels (Unsprung weight saving is VERY important), labor, etc. You'll go through all of this, spend all this $$ sacrifice all this comfort -- and still get your ass handed to you by a $30,000 track prepared normally aspirated 911.

My advice? Enjoy the comfort and if you want a rocket for 1/4 mile racing or road racing get a dedicated car.

    A cheaper alternative is NY Sports Club's $90 monthly membership, I'm sure that's an easy 10 lbs...hehe

i just want it to look sick is it that much more uncomfertable with carpet ? NO

i want the sport seats .

the sound is a whole lot better

    it looks way cooler

i have a friend that is doing all of the carbon fiber for free just so he has the molds i havent spent a cent on nothing yet and i dont think i will be spending a cent other then the sticker so i just think it would be cool to know that i have the lightest street 360 out there thats all. **** a quarter mile Zen i am not even thinking about that. I would like to have a CS in actuallity but do not want a F1 so i will make this car lighterthen the CS and it will be a 6 speed buy the way my friend will be selling these idems for great prices better then any price you have seen and top quality work.

The CS does not have carbon fiber front, rearbumpers
nor does it have carbon fiber hood or decklid.

    i vote insane

LMAO! Brad probably has more than 10 lbs. of ink on him.... AS for the mods on the car, if "looking sick" was the goal, then I would say you are on the right track. :)

if CF parts are free, go for it.
otherwise the effort/money input is probably not worth the weight reduction result and performance gain.
in any case, it will look BAD ARSE! so can't go wrong there.

    Me, too.

Want a free sticker? Go see phil in Deer Park. Show up with the 360. Tell him you're a friend of mine...

    http://www.grafikdezine.com

I'd bet that he'll do it free to put a stripe on a 360...

You could probably save about 200-300 pounds. Everything adds up.

Insane-- but in a good way, a stock 360 is a dime a dozen these days at Ferrari events, your car will really stand out..! Supercharge it!

Oh boy. This car is going to be a project for a very long time. Everything is going to eventually be changed isn't it?

I believe this is an all or nothing sort of thing, but money-wise and time-wise it would be cheaper for you to just buy a 360CS and be done with it.

If you are going to start taking out carpet you had better remove every single thing possible from the car!!! Otherwise you are just ruining a perfectly good car.

Tons of pristine 360's for sale, the enjoyment he'll get out of it will be worth 10x more then the drop in resale value-- he's an artist, this is his new canvas...
