The Roma should have an Aston Martin badge on it (but would still be the ugliest Aston)... and I'm pretty sure the 296 is a Lotus-- both are UGLY as hell..... what was Ferrari thinking with these two abominations? Guess they didn't want the Mondial to be alone in its ugliness.

I honestly haven't liked many of the original designs since Ferrari gave Pininfarina the boot, but think the Roma and F8 are among the better ones. Most Astons are pretty, so saying a Ferrari looks like one is a compliment imho

The 296 looks awkward/unbalanced to me. But the only thing I could say is actually ugly from Ferrari right now are some of the livery options I seem to see everywhere

The Roma looks cool I think, 296, sf90, sp3 and puro all look pretty bad

Ya, that’s why I said it would be the ugliest Aston lol….

And I certainly agree with the F8 (since I have one) and just HAD to buy it cos it was SOOOOO beautiful and perfect.

I agree about the livery options especially on the SF90- yuck… and the back by the rear windows is also an awkward design on the SF.

296 just looks ‘soft’ and blah to me….

I’ll agree somewhat that Roma is ‘ok’- I guess it’s just the front with all those squares as a grill that I don’t like

Well, obviously aesthetics and style are subjective. I find the Mondial might be considered the least "exotic" Ferrari of the era, but a good-looking, solid-performing car in its own right. If you want a Ferrari that doesn't scream "look at me", it may be a good choice. One car on the other end of that spectrum is the F8, which obviously appeals to you.

Personally I have zero interest in either the style, or paying for, anything Ferrari made after they left Pininfarina. If I had the money for an F8, I'd buy the nicest Boxer I could find.

I have a 355 berlinetta. I've heard it called everything from one of the most beautiful Ferraris ever (which is my opinion) all the way to bland and boring to look at, not much going on besides the side scoops.

    Different strokes, man.

I’ve always loved Pinanfarina designs. I had two F430’s. I’ve always loved the F355 and think it’s a beautiful car. But I am quite surprised and impressed at how well Ferrari did on their own in design with the Pista and F8. IMO, I think these are the two most beautiful designs/cars Ferrari has ever produced…. And of course the most powerful and last of the breed as well.

To me, the 296 is a huge backward step aesthetically…. And even the SF90 isn’t as pretty as the aforementioned.

The designer certainly got lazy with the grill. It would have been better with the classic polished surround with an egg crate grill. But it is a small detraction from what is in my opinion one of the best looking cars they have ever made.

I don't think everything they've done without Pininfarina is bad, and PF had its hits and not-so-much-hits for sure, but overall I'm a PF fan - partly, no doubt, because it's what I grew up with. The Daytona SP3, much as it's a technological tour de force, etc., I think stylistically would've been better left as a concept car. It's so...over the top...I don't think I'd want to be seen in it.

The grill is easily the worst styling part of the Roma; thankfully the aftermarket options were pretty quick to arrive:

I dont know about the 'least exotic'. Personally it still looks more exotic then a 400/412 and debatable the 456M. That said, point taken.

    Cool, who made that?

I missed that part of your post; you're totally right, I didn't even consider the 400/412 or 456 - and forgot the 456 was built concurrently with the Mondial t. I think the Mondial was definitely more "exotic" than the 400 series (not that I don't like them, but they're a different class of car). The 456 I think is a sleeper that doesn't photograph particularly well, but looks pretty great in person.

    Unpopular opinion....

The f8 could wear a lotus badge and no one would notice.

The back end is 100% lotus.

That being said it's still a Greta looking car

Roma looks like an Aston or f-type. But then again f8, artura and emira look alike too.

I don’t know, personally I’m waiting for Ferrari to try a new core body plan than the 458 for the mid-engine v8s.

There's nothing wrong with your viewpoint; you're right, and folks that say the 296 and Roma look great—no right or wrong with aesthetics.

Is an 'ugly' Mondial worth $140,000? This buyer seemed to think so last month. The purchaser may have put aside their gag reflex or perhaps suffered from temporary insanity.

Though I understand there is a cohort here to pooh-pooh anybody that anything without a manual. as a milquetoast poseur, I hear others say the Mondial buyer has the ugly car, but at least it's a genuine Ferrari because: gated. I have no clue, and don't like engaging in those histrionics. - I leave that up to those that demean others' cars, afterall - I love the DCTs too.

Is this 'beauty' worth south of half a billion dollars?

    According to the market, yes.

I am old school and anything after the Montezemolo era doesn't grab me like it should. However, I have accepted that nothing will match the Enzo and Montezemolo era cars. Therefore I look at the new ones differently; We are in the age of the ugly and soulless car and this is simply Ferrari trying to exist in this age.

The good news is that all the amazing Ferraris that tug at my heartstrings and fuel my dreams have already been made.

Styling is by nature subjective, I think the 296 is stunning.
