I would say Steely Dan, Yes, Pink Floyd, Led Zep, Rolling Stones and Van Halen Wer the tops in my book.
I've worked with a couple of those guys I can't answer this question, way too many bands I really like to pick a top 5.

My Favorites 1. Can Great German Stoner Rock 40 years a head of thier time 2. New York Dolls, The Drummer stole my girlfriend but she was a junkie anyway. Still one of the best bands ever. 3. The Cramps, I have had the privelage of knowing these folks for over 30 years and they still give one of the best live shows. 4. ZZ Top, Billy Gibons is one of the nicest guys and one of he best vocalist in rock. He gets no credit for being a great singer but listen and learn boys and girls. 5. Roxy Music, Brian Ferry and crew can rock out with the best of them.
