Would be great a F-chat meet...LOL.. Yes the food is on me, I will pack some sandwiches and a umbrella... times are hard..
I went the race at Spa this year. Amazing circuit. Long, very hilly walk around it though. Our seats were in the covered Grandstand 8 at the apex of the La Source hairpin. I loved those seats, as you saw the cars under coming down the main straight, and under braking. We saw Lewis take the lead from Kimi there (got a great picture of a "neutral" marshal cheering right behind Lewis/Kimi at the pass) - http://bit.ly/gkaN There are covered Grandstands at Eau Rouge as well. I'm sure those will be spectacular. I took pictures of the cars going up the hill and looking back down from the top. The elevation change is unbelievable there. It's my favourite circuit, and I had a blast. The GP2, Porsche Supercup and F-BMW races were really exciting as well. Here's a pointer to my Belgian GP pix: http://bit.ly/3mel Enjoy the race! Mark
No F1 races for 2009. When they come back to the US maybe. But I be working: Sebring Winter Nationals 24 hrs Daytona St Pete GP 12 Hrs Sebring Road Atlanta SCCA Nationals Plus many SCCA Regional and Drivers schools.
Monaco, for something like the 18th year in a row now. Not as intimate as when I started going back in '92, but still big fun.
Yep, your not alone Brian , the credit crunch isn't a cereal bar.. Can't remember did you go last year..?
Stayed in Nice the first year, and in various places for the next few years, but lucked into a room at a nice hotel in Monaco years ago and have stayed there ever since- it's "my" room for race week every year until I give it up, which I'm loath to do since it's reasonably priced and well-located (about 2 blocks from Casino Square). If you do stay in Nice take the train in (maybe 20 minutes), BUT be sure to check in advance as they've started requiring reservations and fill up early. A buddy and his wife made that mistake a couple of years ago and ended up having to hire a driver to bring them into MC on race day. If you don't mind the expense, HeliAir Monaco flies every 15 minutes between L'Aeroport Nice Cote d'Azur and the heliport in MC (about 6 minutes by air), but they jack the price up considerably during race week.
LoL... well, my last trip to Sepang was Michael's last year at Sepang. i've been to various part of the circuit, so the grandstand remains. So, depends how fast i can settle things.
