Over the last 2 seasons they have been slowly improving until they were considered a potential race winner. This year they snck worse than the F2005 (in its present state ... ;)).

Has there been management structure changes? ... I believe Honda own the team now?, has that caused them to loose focus and thus they need to suffer a regroup and start again?

Have they tried anything too fancy (as though we would be told ...)?

Lets not simply just bash Sato ...

    Thoughts.

Remember what I use to say...

2004 is the closest BAR HONDA will ever get to winning a world championship. The only reason why they looked good was because McLaren and Williams did not perform too well.

Now we are in 2005 and we can see that BAR Honda is really not that good!

oh and I forgot to add... SATO SUCKS! :D

Another day at the office/F1 chat on Fchat day ay.. :)

I think that BAR have suffered a similar fate to that of Williams, but not to the same degree. Maybe the testing time that they had in the off season was not used properly. I read in the F1 mag somewhere that they are having downforce issues which started in Melb, which leads to cooling issues, as you could easily see at bahrain.

So in effect, i think that they are still strong in all other departments, but i think they took a step backward, when they thought they were going forward.....like Williams.

Expect a new package for both teams as well as others in the May.

I hope that's it anyways, i dont mind BAR. :)

The answer's simple: Honda started micro-managing everything. They'll be out paced by Toyota all season. Honda's system or model of team/personnel managment is notoriously invasive and it's starting to affect them in all facets; MotoGP, AMA SBK and F1.

To be noted, they aren't that slow. Button has posted respectable laps so far this year. Horrible qualy has hurt them alot, as it has McLaren. They just don't have a car as fast as McLarens to allow them to recover.

    Oh, and relibility...

I think part of the reason why they are sucking this year is because David Richards left. He was the driving force behind the BAR team, I think this is why Jenson Button wanted to leave for BMW Williams.

I do hope that Williams (and BAR) stop stuffing around and raise their game ... for Marks sake. He has been quick so far, but needs to get the bloody results.

    Concerned

Don't think so fast guys. Last year it was Renault and BAR that were banging it out for 2nd place. I think BAR has the same bug as Ferrari. I think that if after two more races BAR, and Ferrari for that matter, don't get their act together Renualt will be world champion. Lets not forget McLaren either. If all these guys get the problems solved, we will have one of the most exicting seasons in a long time. I give it two more races.

I can answer that in 5 words. Last year was a fluke.
