Started to look for old photos, found a few but will have to search further. The first one is my 308 GTB just after arriving from Melbourne and a service from FF. The second shows it's age by the sign in the video shop. Next is NSX sideways on skidpan. (sorry, not Ferrari but brought back memories of the noise - they sound great inside!) The last one is of Aus Dino's Dino - the only photo I have of it before VD day. Here's some more..... These first three are from a NSW/Qld mini Rally we had at Coffs Harbour in 1984 or 5 from memory (I'm slack at writing on the back of pics). L to R McCoy Boxer, Dino???, Ray Helm 330GTC, Carter Boxer? or may have been owned by Malcolm Barrett (Qld) by then, Richard Davies 308 GT4, Lewis Reinhold (little Dino) 308 GTB (glass car fitted with new QV engine around this time), Lewis Reinhold 246 GTS. (I think I was in this with Lew and his Dad (Theo ) was driving the 308, Going through the ranges near Byron Bay we came upon a radar trap being set up...this was when they had someone down the road to stop you...they saw us coming and by the time they were set up we had all blasted past except Theo who was moping along at 110 kph and got booked! ) Next is Tom Hillard 308 GTB ( this was a glass car fitted with the factory hot up pack of cams etc...would see 8500rpm in top!), trevor Basset 365GTB4 Daytona, ???400i, Denis Nolan 365GT4 Queen Mary. The third photo is typical of these Rally's.....Whips, Beer and Big Hats....the whipee is John McLean who was the best Ferrari mechanic in Aust...he retired from fixing Ferrari's to go motor racing , the whiper is Laurie Moloney who had many Fiats and Alfa's. The last one is John Mclean presenting me with the guide post my X19 had removed from his road....I left a party at their house, had a spin, was pointing back towards the party.... so went back and continued patying. The next morning noticed a post sized dent on the pas side in front of the rear wheel....must have been something I drank All for now, maybe Aus Dino can find some more. Peter, that was a joke, look near the car...looks like leaks...and was 1988 so think FF was making leaks in England ( your right, not as funny when you have to explain )
okkkkk.....i almost picked up on that, but thought it was too subtle to have been what you were getting at. here's my first Ferrari. I bought it for me when I turned 21 in 1832. http://users.bigpond.net.au/pless/ferraridino246gt/ incidentally, i've noticed all the dinos in these photos look...well...pretty much the same. but i'm a conformist, so here's mine.
OK Some more........ I can say with confidence that Horse is part cat, and this scared ONE of his lives away........Not a mark on the car though or was it good driving? or the Bridgestone sign..!!! Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
The car that started the Yule assosciation with the Ferrari Club - Don May's 250 GTE back in 1983 at Montville. It was that v12 sound that trapped us. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Hey it's Uncle Ray! If you tried that here in Vic you would be banned for a year. As an aside, we now have new "hoon laws" that allow the Police to seize and auction a vehicle for "serious" traffic offences. One of those is exceeding the posted limit by 45kmh. Apparently it doesn't matter if the driver does not own the vehicle- WTF!!!!!!
And a couple of the late J.K's beautiful Muira SV Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
ahhhhhhhhhh beautiful. I'm assuming that is the same one that has been for sale recently. Is it still for sale?
Yep, that's confidence! Actually it seemed to happen a lot quicker than the time taken to look at the pictures.
Congratulations to "360C" for a sensational thread with fabulous shots! Much appreciated. All the best from far away Switzerland. Marcel Massini
Thanks Marcel, more to come in due course. Hopefully the other members will continue with the valuable contributions as well. Cheers Scott
