Thank you. It was a great exhibit. Not only the cars but the art of the Bugatti family. What a talented and artistic family they were. Can anyone confirm whether the cars in the pics are authentic? And, which models they are? (I can't find my pictures of the plaques that went with the cars). Thank you...T
Editorial picture, Getty stuff. You have also antique Bugatti pictures in google... With a lot of material, sometimes mentions are not correct so I used a French forum, description are more exhaustives and very adjusted by current admirators.
Tom. Beautiful cars in your pictures. Your post here has raised a question that I had about this thread. The title "Old Bugatti photos" could mean photographs of old Bugattis (whenever these photos were taken) or it could mean photographs taken a long time ago of Bugattis. The placement of the adjective makes a big difference! A thread that I contribute to in the UK section is entitled "Old photos of UK Ferraris" which is much clearer and the first post even goes on to set a time scale of pre-1990. This Bugatti thread does not have that and I think that it does not matter. Christian, who started the thread, has posted some fairly recent pictures and even some of scale models so I have taken this thread to be about old Bugattis, irrespective of when the photographs were taken. If I am wrong to assume this then please, someone, let me know. The EB110, Veyron, Chiron and Divo all have their own threads and, to me, this one is all about the cars from the original Bugatti. The race number is 208 which excludes some of the events I know this car competed in. I would guess from the low tail that the pictures are from 1946 or later?
. Robert, Cars with three pedals. old, new, and diecast pictures with or without copyright are welcome. Regards

Yes it is this car. The place is the workshop of Fritz Gerster in Säckingen before the Eggbergrennen 1947. My father worked there as an apprentice. Here are three more pictures of this event with Fritz Gerster and the Bugatti. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I cannot send you a link at the moment but if you search online for “Bugatti revue Steinweg” there is a great article.
