My first post here, but boy what a good one! Picked up 00636 from 500tr on this forum in Germany on Friday morning, and as my license plates were only valid until midnight I drove the car 1.381 km in one go. The car has been through a complete restoration from a rather poor state, and 500tr and his friendly helpers have done a fantastic job in making the car original again. The car ran without a single hickup, and I averaged 1.2 liters/km with a rather heavy right foot. Bloody brilliant!

The most amazing thing was how comfortable the car is - I arrived at the norwegian border completely relaxed, and was met by two lovely norwegian girls at the customs who helped me with the necessary papers and served me coffee while I waited. Don't think this would have happened with any other car...

A lesson I quickly learned was how hot it is in the car - like Henry (from Dino Garage) said; "The controls for the fan can be switched between HOT and VERY HOT". The weather in Germany was fantastic, with nearly 30 degrees C, and I have never been as warm as I was in the cabin.

Highlights of the trip included a 599 GTO that flew by at close to max speed, and stood on the brakes and waited for me to catch up - the passenger (a rather sweet looking lady) then took out the camera, took pictures of the Dino, gave me the thumbs up, and then the driver slammed the accelerator again. Ten minutes later I passed an absolutely stunning Bugatti type 57 (probably a repro, but it looked very, very authentic) and again received the thumbs up.

Will post more pictures when I can - for now I only have some rather poor pics from my telephone, but hope you will enjoy them:)

Congratulations! The car looks beautiful. I am assuming that "home" is Norway and that the car will be staying there? Wonderful, wherever it will be.

And, yes, those thumbs up signs from drivers of newer Ferraris are all part of the joys of driving a Dino!

It's the øresund bridge between denmark and sweden, and I was going slow because of strong winds and the fact that I was taking a photograph:)

And of course there's a speed limit!

Hope you'll pass that bridge the opposite way next year to meet all us crazy Dino guys at the annual German meeting ;-)

That car looks as elegant and "right" as any other beautiful car has ever been. Absolutely a breath of fresh air from the "melted candy bar" look. I love that. Anyone that doesn't accept these cars as full blooded Ferraris is simply in denial of reality, or blind, or both.

Winston Goodfellow points out that this car was the best selling Ferrari up to that time.

Ron Cavallo writes...."...the Dino brand remains a lasting tribute to a father's beloved son."

Thanks for all the kind remarks:) Winter is approaching fast here up north, but I'll try to take some autumn-pictures soon. The car is really sweet to drive, and we are enjoying every moment!
