I’m sure we have had, and hopefully still have, many old and rare Lambos here in Oz. Let’s have a thread dedicated to them. I’ll start with this. Did it leave our shores or is it still here?

One forgets how beautiful some of their early cars were Dan…The Muira was the poster child of the 60s…Gorgeous car but when you look at the 400 and 350 GTs…Just as beautiful IMO..

They certainly were mate.. There was a Miura on display in a showroom here in Melbourne recently. I got a chance to have a real good look up close, I felt like a kid all over again!

I have a Lamborghini archive as well. Been collecting images and publications since 1983. I'll throw some images up over the coming weeks.

None the less, the salt mines beckon, a shipment of parts just arrived.

Here's a taste. Lamborghini / Bertone press photograph, circa 1970.

I used to get my Alfasud serviced at a garage in Summer Hill in the 80s. The mechanic did mostly Italian cars and had trained under Henry Nehrybecki , so the occasional Lambo would be in the workshop. He did a post purchase inspection on a silver Islero that Rick Damelian had sold and provided a warranty. The owner was presented with pages of faults and and cost estimate of $20k to fix. I was there when henchmen turned up and started threating him re the list of faults. I left before it got violent :D

That is a worry, and not uncommon in the land of Lamborghini I found out very early in my automotive journey. Melbourne has similar tales.

That's a name I haven't heard for ages.............Henry Nehrybecki. Is he still around? Hopefully the Sydneysiders can fill in a little of what I know about him. He spent time in the UK and worked with Eric Broadley at Lola. Came to Australia, or maybe back to Australia and worked with Frank Matich on the SR4. I suspect a host of other things.

Greg, is the garage you frequented with your Alfasud?

Nope, I stopped going in the late 80s after my suspicions that he performed a "wall" job on my car proved correct. I thought he was a bit dodge so I put mark the oil filter and it was the same filter when I got home. Pulled the plugs and they weren't changed either...He'd obviously just parked my car up against the wall and did nothing. Never heard of him since then and that workshop is no longer there

Don’t most car dealership workshops do the same thing?

Greg, was that the one on Parramatta Road that used to often have a tasty selection of Lamborghini on the forecourt?

I should add that the Islero was 6438. It had by that stage an Espada engine due to the original block being porous. It had a repaint to blue about then then disappeared into storage for about 30 years. Now in NZ still accompanied by the original engine.

I had a good look over this car when it was for sale at Maranello Motorsport. Would be about 15 years ago. It was a metallic teal colour back then. They were asking $150,000 for it. I've always liked the Islero, small footprint and big glasshouse.

Was that the LHD car, not an S, that was doing the rounds? Was also at CTS around that time too. Had been in Adelaide for a while having come from the UK.
