Good morning. I am not that new a member but have never introduced myself. I purchased a, what was described to me as a "basket case" by one of the best ferrari techs here in south Florida. It had an engine bay fire and the engine was out of the car. Its a 77 328 GTB. Metallic Silver. Titled as a 78, trying to take care of that as we speak. The only damage to the car was the engine bay lid was a bit toasted. Any way long story short engine tested with good compression so we went ahead and gave it a complete out of car service and put it back in the car. Had the car repainted and except for a few minor annoyances the car has run great since. Bought with 26,000 miles now has 51,000 after almost 20 years. It is time for me to refurbish, restore to some degree, as it turns out I have been diagnose with a type of cancer in my bone marrow which is not curable treatable but they cannot stop it. Anyway my intent was to let the car go to my oldest son on his graduation from college. He is only 14 now and I doubt I will make it there, so it will go into a trust until that time. Not that I do not trust the sensibilities of a college kid but.......we shall see. Unfortunately went from a great 6 figure career to a divorce and a small pension and basically a fixed income. Well that's my story and my mission to put 22377 back in order to the best of my ability, both financially and physically. She has been a great car and deserves to continue on, showing a bit of rust, my biggest worry and expense at this time but on little step at a time.

Welcome! Good luck with the car, and with your health. Early GTBs are great cars, and silver is a really nice color on a 308.

Thank you gentleman, that's life. I have a good attitude about it all. One never knows, and I am a glass 3/4 full kind of guy. Car has been great actually just want to get some of the 40+ year old parts replaced and make it safe and even more fun to drive for when it is passed down. I think these cars need to be persevered for their beautiful aesthetic and engineering design. Yes some of the engineering is old and outdated but that is OK, it is Italian afterall and I am working a little on that too albeit at a very measured pace.
