I have my old radiator off of my '82 308 in a box. It's in need of a complete recore. I don't have space to store it anymore so if anyone wants it send me a message. You pay shipping and it's yours.
It doesn't leak, but it doesn't cool very well either. I think it was just neglected for a long time... well I KNOW it was since the rest of the car suffered the same fate and I've been going through and addressing all of those things. Just had a rad for an early E type Jag re-cored, about $600 for the new core alone, without labor. Had been about 20 years since my last re-core job ($200 total, I still have the receipt), so I was pretty surprised about the increase. But then the volume of this kind of work has to be decreasing, so I'm thinking there are less core suppliers/competition out there. Using an online inflation calculator, I get a 66% increase from 2004 to today, so the 200% increase I paid isn't simply due to materials inflation.
Yeah if I had someone locally that could do it I would have had it re-cored. Unfortunately where I'm located no one is around that can do this kind of work.
