They sponsored me after I WON something....try that! LOL! I run 16" aftermarket most of the time but really to my eye the 14" are correct for the old ones and so I went in search..... I do indeed talk to the guys in Akron, OH ...the Racing Division rings me to the right folks thru the switchboard.
I pointed out to them the market in our chatsite, that's not many tires but I though they'd be interested. I have all my 14"s as well, still run them on two of the cars......and plan to refit the third....I didn't buy a $600 set of OEM lugs to gather dust!

As I said - I do not exceed the speed rating of the tire. The truth is the new tires are safer than the old ones I had. I live in the north east US. Congested area - little or no opportunity to safely and legally drive at excess speeds for any length of time and I do not track the car.
I'm still puzzled?? Can anyone tell me how steering angle inclination is not the same as caster or what steering angle inclination is?
After further investigation with some local tech guys who set up race cars , the viewpoint is that it is not possible to have the car within caster and camber specification, and have the Steering Axis Inclination that far out. The SAI is a combination of castor and caster geometry....... so for it to be out it's like saying 2 + 3 = 7. SAI is basically the angle of an imaginery straight line drawn from the centre of the top ball joint, through the centre of the bottom ball joint and down to where the tyre makes contact with the ground. (Viewed from the front of the car, looking back) Simillar to the old " king pin inclination. On these cars the line should pass through the tyre contact point just slightly inboard of the tyre centre line (approx 10 deg) and both sides should be near as damn it equal. Only the last alignment guy I took the car to said the SAI was out on the right hand front. The 1st two companies I went to showed it as being evenly matched and within spec but the car still wasn't handling well ........ hence the reason for a 3rd opinion. I'm hoping now that this issue will be resolved when I put the new tyres on this Saturday. The guy who did say that the SAI was out admitted that it didn't make sense and couldn't explain what was wrong ....... he did however take offence at my slightest suggestion that his alignment machine might not be completely accurate !!! So much for going to the "professionals" !
That tire was worn out though, note wear bars = treadblock height! Goodyear is #1 in Ferrari Vintage Racing........
I only race on Goodyears but have not loved all the street tires as much. I tried different slicks and vintage tires but could never get the fronts to hold up to my trail braking on any of the Formula cars or the Vintage Mustangs. I like some of the high end Goodyear performance steet tires but I think some of the regular tires are lacking compared to Mich or Yok's. Would only put Mich on a SUV.
I agree..never seen AJ as mad as the weekend he got a bad run....man, he was HOT! LOL! Said so, on national TV as well........ I was very happy when they flew these in though, so we'll give them a roll. I use the F1 GSD3s on my 16" street application, no complaints.
Yup, in extensive performance testing it was established that chicks like the thread pattern. Case closed.
BigTex, If you are still working on importing the Carat Assuros, I am interested. I don't know if this is a reasonable price, but I'd buy them without hesitation at $150/tire (set of five), and could probably be talked into something between $150-$200 per tire. Thanks, Tony K.
