Miles is deliberately tanking the season so he can get forced out and take the soon to be vacant job at Michigan. LSU will then offer Saban one dollar more per year than he is making at Alabama and he will return to LSU causing Bama fans to commit Seppuku in front of their home Bear Bryant shrine.

Either that or he really wants the job at Tulane. :)

The game proved that talent does matter but coaching counts in crunch-time. If the puddycats had won, the heat would be on McCluster for the olay move on the onside kick.

    HOTTY TODDY!

I have always been of the opinion that Miles has been way more lucky than good. Basically what is now happening is that vast swaths of the Tiger empire are just figuring out what many have known for years.....that Miles is not too bright. Someone over on the Tech board said it best: "There are over 6 billion people on the planet, and (former LA Tech HC) Jack Bicknell only ever managed to out-coach two of them. Les Miles is one of those two." (Tech vs. OK State 2002)

I also love how he throws everyone but himself under the bus trying to pass around blame for the terrible game management against Ole Miss. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0B9kfnJvB6Q

This one's kind of stupid, but still funny: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CJJYUoKLpl4&feature=related

And you're right about McCluster too. You gotta be willing to get hit in that situation! We can also probably have another thread next week about how Nutt does the classic Nutty thing after beating a highly ranked team, when he follows it up by losing an easy one to MSU.

I have heard a lot of people say that exact same thing, actually. I think he now has a HUGE buyout clause in his contract though after his last re-negoation. What names are folks down there throwing around as a potential replacement?

    Ck out this link: http://www.tigerdroppings.com/rant/messagetopic.asp?p=16473598&pg=1

My first thought was Butch Davis, he rebuilt Miami and is doing the same with UNC. Butch is mentioned in the above link too. I thought he would have been a good fit for Bama too but I'd say the Tide did right by getting Saban.

lost in all the "les lost the game for us", is the fact that ole miss pushed lsu's defense around all day. 193 yards rushing to 40 is total dominance.

lsu should never had been in position to win the game anyway, but as it worked out, they were.

the only stat lsu had better was 17 more passing yards and that included a desperation 40 yard hail mary.

i think its important to note that despite a close score, the game really was never "close".

Maybe so but I'll take 3 SEC west titles sandwiched around the bad losses like he had in hogville.

    P.S.

I'm on record as declaring Ole Miss the 2010 SEC West champs on 1/2/09: http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showpost.php?p=138310980&postcount=956

That is more of Les' piss poor coaching. Ole Miss never should have been pushing LSU around all day this year or last year.

Les was good when he had something to prove. After a championship, etc, he became a rockstar and more and more puffed up in the head.

    Oh well.

I could have managed the clock better than that, and I don't know squat about football.

Despite his coaching ability, Les (or someone on his staff) sure can recruit, which makes it all the more frustrating to see the talent on the field fail.

It will be interesting to see how Nutt does in a couple years after Coach O's players are gone; that said, watch out for UT if the Kiffin family can keep it together.

Yep, but he's a pretty sharp little kid ;)

Really though clock management was just one factor in the whole game.

What's worse now is how les is trying to weasel out of the fact he gave the order to spike the ball with a second left.

complete and total bullsh!t. ole miss beat the brakes off yall last year and yall couldnt even get your "revenge" win this year.

both games ole miss utterly embarrassed lsu players and coaching staff. that is called the better team, period.

you delusional lsu fans need to start getting that straight, dont think for a second that your players are superior, certainly your caoching isnt. and like a band of fools yall paid him all that money and now yall are the laughing stock of the sec.

lsu got dropped on its head by ole miss because they are the better team, plain and simple.

it was obvious the loss was the fault of the coaching staff and nothing more, the team has been suffereing since 07 Les came in after Saban' dynamo team and rode his coat tails for two years. After loosing 16 seniors in 07 after the BCS victory against OSU, it was down hill from there. The whole game against Ole Miss was bad one coaching mistake after another the final 1:14 is just what we remember most. As much as I dislike Saban for chasing the money and setteling at Bama, I wish his ego didn't make his decisions when he left LSU

Since Ole Piss beat us up and down the field like a drum all day I would think the score should have been 70 - 0 not damn near losing the game and only winning because Les Miles is a idiot.

I can't argue that as we should have scored more TD's instead of field goals. Having 2 called back did not help. With less than 4 min. to play, you are down by 5, yard totals are over 400 to less than 200, and the other team has first and goal from the 4 after settling for 4 field goals , you pretty much got beat all day long. By the way, Dexter's quote was that they were taught if the ball is too hot, let it go to the second row. Slightly misjudged that one! As far as the future, with Dexter and Hodge leaving, we have work to do!

It's the house divided game for me as my wife went to LSU but she took it in stride and we had an awesome time in the grove! Now we need to close it out and it might be Disney world for the kids this year!

Les is an OK coach but nothing more. Unlucky he did not leave for Michigan the first time, would be real lucky if they were dumb enought to take him this time. Either way, I see you changed your tag line Frank. Hotty Toddy!
