I'm just reading Olivier Gendebien's book " Quatres fois vainqueur au Mans" and in the 1957 chapter he's talking about his personnal 250 Europa and that the car was silver does somebody know wich car it was because 0357GT was sold to Michel Ringoir ,0419GT seems to be the car raced at the La Roche hillclimb with Jacques Swaters in March 1956 (having a b/w picture but could be silver or green(?))barchetta now announced that the car used there was 0373GT or was it 0373GT that was gray and repaint silver or maybe he was confusing gray and silver ?

    best regards

Swaters had 4 cars: 0357GT, 0363GT (looks very different before and after repairs), 0373GT and 0419GT, which have been seriously confused with each other. I don't know colors for 0357GT (unreliable records), 0363GT (after repairs), 0373GT (repainted) so telling these cars are not always easy. 0363GT was originally azzurro (light blue?) and 0373GT was originally "grigio latte" (white). La Roche car was 0357GT.

I took my Gendebien book and on page 101 to 103 he described the Liège Rome Liège and starts with the Tour de France 1956 he explain that he had a proposition from Mercedes to drive a new 300SL (like he did the year before ) but Enzo Ferrari propose him a 250 Europa for the race (who in Gendebien's mind was not a good car for this particular race) after this Olivier Gendebien tells that he bought his cousin car a 250 Europa who needs some repairs so he swaped his Mercedes for the Ferrari but they told him at the factory that the car was not worth to repair .So he had no car for the Tour de France Automobile and his friend Michel Ringoir propose to him to drive his car 0357GT so if 0373GT was Philippe Washer's car (new in grigio late''white'')could it be that the car from the Liège Rome Liège was a new car maybe restamped to 0373GT and became Olivier Gendebien's silver car in 1957 ?
Its just a theory of mine so if somebody have more informations it would be helpful, maybe does somebody have a picture of the back of the car does it had a licence plate ?

If I'm not mistaken, 0357GT was the first 250GT. FWIW.

No biggie Nico. I was trying to rib Marcel cause he's always quick to catch us with these things--apparently this one time he was asleep at the wheel. When we are talking about these cars there needs to be a "GT" between "250" and "Europa". Without it, the serial numbers would end with an "EU". I know this not because I am an astute Ferraristi, but because I lusted after this model forever. With or without the "GT", I think they are the most beautiful of Pinifarina's Ferraris. It's the absolute curvy chick of all old Ferrraris.

    Hey John

Just FYI: It is Ferrarista in singular, Ferraristi would be plural.
You see, I am not sleeping at all..........

no worries I though there was a mistake into my post from yesterday (and maybe there is ?) I wrote that title because it's how Gendebien wrote about it in his book. This book brings for mee and other's I show some confusion like the car he bought from Washer would not be prepared at time for the Liège -Rome Liège 1956 because the car was too bad and he received that news from the factory after months so was he confused with 0503GT (was this car ever is own ?) and he describe that his wife drove his silver Europa (GT) when she visit him during the 1958 Tour de France so was he confused with 1033GT about the color or was 0373GT repaint ? A lot of questions for one car during 3/4 years .
